A classroom display can make lesson content easier to see, but it is only one part of an effective audiovisual environment.

Modern classrooms may need to support presentations, video, collaboration, remote participants and a range of teaching devices. Students also need to hear content clearly, while teachers need technology that is straightforward to operate during a lesson.

This means classroom AV design involves more than choosing the right screen. Audio, connectivity, control, room layout, accessibility and reliability all have a role to play.

For schools planning a new learning space or upgrading an existing classroom, considering these elements together can help ensure the technology is practical, appropriate and aligned with how the room will be used.

The Display Is Only One Part of the AV System

Biyala Primary School’s learning spaces, equipped with future-ready AV. At the centre of each room is an 86-inch display, complimented by ceiling speakers.

The display is usually the most visible component of classroom AV. Depending on the space, this might be an interactive display, large-format screen, projector and projection screen, or another visual presentation system.

It can be used to present lesson material, demonstrate software, display documents, show videos and share information with students.

However, the visual component is only one part of the classroom experience.

Consider a teacher playing an educational video. The display may provide a clear image, but students also need to hear the dialogue and accompanying audio. If the teacher is presenting from a laptop, there needs to be a convenient way to connect that device. If the lesson involves a remote presenter, cameras and microphones may also be required.

A classroom AV system can therefore include:

Displays or projection systems

Classroom speakers

Microphones where appropriate

Wired and wireless presentation connectivity

Teacher and student source devices

Video conferencing equipment

AV control interfaces

Document or visual cameras

Accessibility technologies

Network-connected AV equipment

The right combination depends on the room, its intended use and the school’s requirements.

Classroom Audio Is Just as Important as the Visuals

A large, high-resolution display cannot compensate for unclear or uneven audio.

Students may need to hear teachers, videos, presentations and remote participants from different positions throughout the classroom. If sound is concentrated in one area or becomes difficult to understand at the back of the room, simply increasing the volume may not address the underlying issue.

Room acoustics, speaker placement, background noise and classroom size can all influence audio performance.

A well-considered classroom audio system aims to distribute sound appropriately throughout the room. Speaker selection and placement should take the physical characteristics of the space into account.

This can sometimes mean using dedicated speakers rather than relying on the speakers built into a projector or display.

<img decoding="async" class="size-large wp-image-13534" src="https://dibaustralia.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/20240611_1407231-Edited1-1024x461.jpg" alt="Projector setup on Heatherwood School classrooms.
For example, Heatherwood School’s classroom AV installation includes external Kramer speakers to provide stronger sound coverage than the standard built-in projector speakers. The installation also incorporated Epson ultra-short-throw interactive projectors and Vivi wireless presentation, demonstrating how visual, audio and presentation technologies can work together within a classroom.

Microphones may also be appropriate in certain environments, depending on the room and how it is used.

The objective is not to add audio equipment simply because it is available. It is to provide a system suited to the space and its teaching requirements.

Connectivity Should Make Teaching Easier

Teachers increasingly work across multiple devices and content sources.

A lesson might involve a school laptop, student device, document camera, interactive application, video or wireless presentation platform. A classroom may therefore need more than a single connection to a display.

Technologies such as HDMI, USB-C and wireless presentation can provide different ways of bringing content into the AV system. The appropriate approach will depend on the school’s existing devices, network environment and teaching requirements.

Neatly installed HDMI wall plates provide convenient connectivity while maintaining the clean appearance of Sunbury Down Secondary College’s relocatable classrooms.

Ease of use is equally important.

If teachers need to locate adapters, change several settings or troubleshoot connections before they can begin a lesson, the technology can become an unnecessary interruption.

Good AV design considers both what can connect to the system and how easily staff can use those connections.

Simple Control Can Reduce Complexity

A classroom AV system may contain several interconnected devices, including displays, projectors, amplifiers, speakers, cameras and presentation sources.

Without appropriate control, teachers may need to operate several pieces of equipment independently.

A control interface can bring commonly used functions together. Depending on the system, this may allow a teacher to:

Turn the AV system on or off

Select a presentation source

Adjust volume

Switch between wired and wireless content

Control a projector or display

Operate other room-specific functions

The level of control should match the complexity of the classroom.

A straightforward teaching space may only require a simple interface, while a flexible learning environment or specialist room may benefit from more comprehensive control.

A JED wall control panel provides simple AV control for Djirri Djirri School’s Food Technology Room.

The key consideration is usability. Teachers should be able to operate the system without spending unnecessary time navigating technology before or during a lesson.

Room Design Influences AV Performance

AV equipment does not operate independently of the room around it.

Classroom dimensions, ceiling height, seating arrangements, windows, lighting and acoustics can all influence the design of an AV system.

Display selection and positioning should take viewing distances and seating arrangements into account, while speaker placement needs to consider room acoustics and where students are positioned.

Even the location of connection points and control interfaces can affect how practical a system is to use.

This is why AV planning is particularly useful during the design or refurbishment of a learning space. Considering technology alongside the physical environment can help reduce compromises that may otherwise become apparent after installation.

Accessibility Should Be Considered From the Beginning

Classrooms need to accommodate students with different needs, making accessibility an important consideration in AV planning.

Audio, display positioning, captions, microphone systems and hearing assistance technologies can all play a role depending on the requirements of the school and its students.

Clear and appropriately distributed audio may help students who have difficulty hearing. Captions can provide another way to access video content, while suitable display positioning and sizing can support visibility.

There is no single accessibility configuration that applies to every classroom.

Instead, schools can consider accessibility requirements alongside the rest of the AV design, rather than treating them as an additional consideration after the system has already been specified.

Classrooms Can Extend Beyond the Physical Room

Classroom AV can also support learning beyond the lesson itself.

Video conferencing and classroom recording technologies can allow lessons to involve remote participants or provide students with access to classroom content after the session has finished.

For these applications, the AV system may need to incorporate cameras, microphones, audio processing and recording or conferencing technology alongside the display.

DiscoveryLab Pro and DiscoveryLab Lite are examples of classroom capture solutions designed around these requirements. Depending on the configuration, DiscoveryLab can support lesson recording, hybrid and remote learning, cross-campus teaching, teacher training and access to classroom content for revision.

This illustrates how classroom AV can extend beyond presenting information on a screen to capturing and sharing what happens within the learning space.

Designing an AV System Around the Classroom

More technology does not necessarily mean a better classroom.

The most appropriate AV system is one that reflects the room’s purpose, the people using it and the activities it needs to support.

A general teaching classroom may require a display, speakers and straightforward presentation connectivity. A flexible learning space could have additional presentation sources and wireless collaboration capabilities. A specialist teaching environment may require different equipment altogether.

For schools, it can therefore be useful to start with the room’s requirements rather than a particular product.

Questions such as What will the room be used for? Who will use it? What devices need to connect? How will content be presented? How will the system be operated and supported? can help establish technical requirements before specific equipment is selected.

This approach can also help avoid adding features that do not provide meaningful value to the space.

Reliability Matters in Everyday Teaching

Classroom AV may be used repeatedly throughout the school day, making reliability an important part of the overall design.

A system that regularly requires troubleshooting can interrupt lessons and place additional demands on teachers and IT staff. Reliability can be influenced by equipment selection, system design, installation, configuration and ongoing maintenance.

Support should also be considered when planning AV across multiple classrooms.

For IT Managers and Business Managers, standardising certain elements where appropriate can make systems more familiar to staff and potentially simplify support. At the same time, individual rooms may still require different configurations based on their specific teaching requirements.

Considering the system’s ongoing operation—not just its initial installation—can help schools plan for longer-term use.

What Should Schools Consider When Planning Classroom AV?

Before selecting a display or specifying individual AV components, schools can consider several practical questions.

What is the room used for?
A standard classroom, specialist room, flexible learning area and lecture environment may have different AV requirements.

How many students need to see and hear the content?
Room dimensions, seating arrangements, viewing distances and acoustics can influence display and audio decisions.

What devices will teachers and students use?
Existing laptops, tablets and other school devices should be considered when determining connectivity requirements.

Will the room support remote participants or recorded lessons?
If video conferencing or classroom capture is required, cameras, microphones, speakers, connectivity and recording technology should be planned as part of the same system.

How will teachers control the technology?
The control interface should be appropriate to the room and simple enough for everyday use.

Are accessibility requirements being considered?
Audio, captions, display positioning and other technologies may need to be incorporated depending on the needs of the school community.

How will the system be maintained and supported?
Schools should consider troubleshooting, equipment access, maintenance and future changes alongside the initial installation.

These questions help move the conversation from simply choosing a display to planning an AV environment around the classroom’s actual requirements.

A Classroom Display Is Part of a Bigger Picture

A classroom display remains an important part of modern AV, but it is only one element of the overall system.

Effective classroom AV brings together visual presentation, audio, connectivity and control while taking the room’s physical characteristics, accessibility requirements and intended use into account.

For schools, this whole-room approach can help ensure technology is practical for teachers, accessible to students and manageable for IT teams.

When planning a new classroom or upgrading an existing space, the most useful question may not be “Which display should we install?”

It may be:

“What does this classroom need its AV system to do?”

Starting with that question provides a clearer foundation for selecting the right combination of technology.

If your school is planning a classroom AV upgrade or developing technology requirements for a new learning space, D.I.B Audio Visual can help assess the room, its intended use and technical requirements to develop an appropriate AV solution.

By automatically tracking teachers and reducing the need for manual camera operation, these systems make lecture capture and hybrid learning more practical than ever.

But tracking the teacher is only one piece of the puzzle.

A truly effective lesson recording should capture everything students need to revisit the class—not just the teacher, but also what’s written on the whiteboard, what’s displayed on the screen, classroom discussions and the lesson itself in a format that’s easy to access later.

That’s why many schools are looking beyond standalone AI cameras and investing in complete lecture capture solutions that bring video, audio and recording together into one seamless workflow.

What Makes a Lesson Worth Rewatching?

Think about the last lesson a student revisited before an exam.

They weren’t watching the recording simply to see the teacher again. They were trying to understand a concept they had forgotten, revisit an explanation they didn’t fully grasp or review notes they couldn’t finish writing during class.

For that recording to be genuinely useful, it needs to recreate the learning experience as closely as possible.

Students need to clearly see demonstrations, presentations and handwritten explanations. They need to hear discussions without straining to understand conversations. And they need recordings that are available when and where they’re needed, whether that’s through the school’s Learning Management System (LMS), Microsoft Teams or another platform.

Achieving that requires more than intelligent camera tracking—it requires multiple technologies working together behind the scenes.

Keeping the Teacher in Focus

One of the biggest advantages of AI-powered PTZ cameras is that teachers can teach naturally without worrying about staying inside a fixed camera frame.

As they move between the whiteboard, interactive display and different areas of the classroom, presenter tracking automatically follows them. If they leave the teaching zone to assist students, the system can temporarily switch to a wider view before seamlessly resuming tracking when they return.

The result is a lesson that feels natural to watch, without requiring anyone to operate the camera.

Students Need to See What the Teacher Sees

A great lesson isn’t defined by where the teacher stands—it’s defined by what they’re explaining.

Imagine a mathematics teacher solving equations on the whiteboard before switching to an interactive display to demonstrate graphing software. Or a science teacher moving between diagrams, videos and live demonstrations throughout the lesson.

If the recording focuses only on the presenter, students may miss the very content they’re trying to revise.

Modern lecture capture systems solve this by intelligently adapting to what’s happening in the classroom. When a teacher begins writing on the whiteboard, the camera can temporarily adjust to make handwritten notes easier to read. When a presentation or interactive display becomes the focus, the system can switch to a direct digital feed rather than filming the screen, ensuring students see every detail clearly without glare or reflections.

These transitions happen automatically, allowing recordings to follow the flow of the lesson without interrupting teaching.

For subjects such as Science, Mathematics, Design Technologies and STEM, preserving both the teacher’s explanations and the learning content can make recordings significantly more valuable during revision.

Great Video Starts With Great Audio

While cameras often receive the most attention, clear audio is just as important.

Students are far more likely to tolerate average video than poor sound quality. If they can’t hear explanations clearly or follow classroom discussions, even the sharpest video becomes difficult to learn from.

Beamforming microphone arrays help address this by capturing voices across the classroom while prioritising the teacher’s speech. Whether the lesson involves demonstrations, student questions or collaborative discussions, the system helps maintain consistent, intelligible audio without requiring teachers to manage additional microphones.

Recording Lessons Shouldn’t Create More Work

One of the biggest challenges with lecture capture has never been the technology itself—it’s adoption.

If recording lessons requires teachers to remember multiple steps before every class, it quickly becomes another task competing for their attention.

Modern lecture capture systems are designed to remove that friction.

Teachers can begin recording with a single touch, while schools can also schedule recordings for recurring classes automatically. Once a lesson finishes, recordings can be stored locally, uploaded to school servers or integrated directly into an LMS.

Many systems also support USB video output, allowing the classroom camera to function as a high-quality webcam for Microsoft Teams, Google Meet and other hybrid learning platforms without requiring separate video equipment.

By automating the recording process, schools can create a more consistent experience for both teachers and students while reducing the workload on classroom staff.

An Example of an Integrated Lecture Capture System

Rather than piecing together separate cameras, microphones, recording software and publishing tools, many schools are choosing integrated lecture capture platforms that combine these capabilities into a single solution.

DiscoveryLab Pro is one example designed specifically for education.

Instead of focusing solely on recording video, the platform brings together AI-powered presenter tracking, professional classroom audio, presentation capture and automated recording into one coordinated workflow. As teachers move through the lesson, the system intelligently captures the presenter, classroom content and audio while preparing recordings for distribution afterwards.

For schools that primarily deliver lessons through Microsoft Teams or Google Meet, DiscoveryLab Lite offers a simplified USB-based alternative. By using a connected classroom computer instead of dedicated recording hardware, it provides many of the same capabilities while offering a deployment option suited to smaller learning spaces or schools with different recording requirements.

Rather than replacing existing teaching practices, both solutions are designed to work quietly in the background so teachers can focus on teaching, not technology.

Planning an AI-Ready Classroom

As schools continue investing in digital learning environments, choosing the right lecture capture solution involves more than selecting an AI-powered camera.

Before making that investment, it’s worth considering a few practical questions:

How frequently will lessons be recorded?

Will recordings primarily support revision, hybrid learning or both?

Does the classroom rely heavily on interactive displays or whiteboards?

Is high-quality classroom audio essential?

Will recordings need to integrate with Microsoft Teams, Google Meet or the school’s LMS?

Could the solution be expanded across additional classrooms in the future?

Answering these questions early helps schools invest in technology that supports both today’s teaching practices and tomorrow’s learning environments.

Working with an experienced AV integrator can also help ensure cameras, microphones, displays and recording platforms operate as one connected ecosystem rather than a collection of standalone devices.

Beyond the Camera

AI-powered PTZ cameras have transformed classroom recording by making presenter tracking automatic and lecture capture more accessible for schools.

But as teaching continues to evolve, it’s becoming increasingly clear that cameras alone don’t create meaningful learning resources.

The most effective lecture capture systems combine intelligent video, clear classroom audio, seamless presentation capture and automated recording into a single workflow that supports teachers without changing how they teach.

Solutions such as DiscoveryLab Pro demonstrate how these technologies can work together, helping schools create lesson recordings that are easier to produce, easier to access and ultimately more valuable for student learning.

For schools planning future-ready classrooms, the goal isn’t simply to record lessons—it’s to capture the entire learning experience.

Looking to enhance classroom recording and hybrid learning?

Why This Matters for Schools

Technology has become an essential part of modern teaching.

Interactive displays, classroom audio, projection systems, wireless presentation, video conferencing and emergency communication systems all need to work reliably every day. Poorly designed systems can create unnecessary complexity for teachers and increase support requests for school IT teams.

Many AV projects involve technology from multiple manufacturers. Careful system design ensures every component integrates reliably and operates as a single solution.

Working with an AVIXA Gold Corporate Member means your project is supported by a company that values industry best practices throughout the design and installation process.

For schools, this can help ensure:

AV systems are designed around teaching and learning outcomes

When schools invest in new audio visual technology, they are not simply purchasing projectors or displays—they are investing in learning environments that need to perform reliably for many years. From classrooms and libraries to performing arts centres and multipurpose halls, every AV solution should be designed to meet the needs of teachers, students and school staff.

One of the ways D.I.B Audio Visual demonstrates its experience in education audio visual is through its recognition as an Epson Premium Partner. Having worked with Epson for more than 20 years, our team has extensive experience designing, installing and supporting projection solutions across a wide range of educational environments.

While this partnership reflects our long-standing relationship with Epson, the real value lies in what it means for the schools we work with across Victoria.

What Does Being an Epson Premium Partner Mean?

An Epson Premium Partner is an authorised reseller and integration partner recognised by Epson. This status reflects D.I.B Audio Visual’s long-standing experience designing, installing and supporting projection solutions across education and commercial environments.

Having partnered with Epson for more than two decades, our team has developed a strong understanding of the manufacturer’s projection technologies, recommended installation practices and how these solutions can be applied to different learning spaces.

Bright new Epson EB-PU2213B laser projectors mounted in the Luther College Chapel ceiling. This model delivers 13,000 ANSI lumens—around four times brighter than a typical office projector—making it ideal for large venues.

While Premium Partner status is one indicator of experience, successful AV projects also rely on thoughtful system design, professional installation and ongoing support.

For schools, working with an Epson Premium Partner can provide additional confidence that their AV solution is supported by a team with decades of experience delivering projection solutions for education.

What the Partnership Means for Schools

Choosing the right projection technology is only one part of a successful AV project. Equally important is selecting an experienced integration partner who understands how technology fits within the school’s learning environment.

Working with D.I.B Audio Visual means partnering with a team that combines technical expertise with decades of experience designing, installing and supporting AV systems for education. Our Epson Premium Partner status complements this experience by demonstrating our familiarity with Epson’s projection solutions and recommended deployment practices.

Many schools continue to choose projection because it offers:

Bright, clear images suitable for classrooms of different sizes

Laser projection options with long operational life and reduced maintenance requirements compared with traditional lamp-based projectors

Flexible installation options for both new buildings and refurbishment projects

Wireless presentation and collaboration features across compatible models

Energy-efficient operation across many products in the range

Whether a school is upgrading a single classroom or undertaking a campus-wide technology refresh, D.I.B Audio Visual can help determine whether projection is the right fit for each learning space as part of a broader AV strategy.

How D.I.B Audio Visual Applies This Experience

Experienced System Design

A motorised projector setup in the Mackillop Catholic Regional College Project Space allows the school to roll the screen up when not needed. The screen’s side-tensioning system ensures a perfectly flat surface.

Every school has different teaching spaces, room layouts and learning objectives.

Rather than recommending the same solution for every project, our team designs AV systems that consider:

Room dimensions

Ambient lighting

Viewing distances

Teaching requirements

Existing infrastructure

Opportunities for future expansion

Considering these factors helps the selected projection solution perform as intended within the overall AV system.

Professional Installation

Even high-quality projection technology may not perform to its full potential if it is not installed correctly.

Over more than 20 years working with Epson solutions, D.I.B Audio Visual has designed and installed projection systems across a wide variety of education spaces, including:

General classrooms

STEM learning spaces

Libraries

Administration buildings

School halls

Performing arts centres

Lecture theatres

Flexible learning environments

Careful positioning, calibration, cable management and integration with existing AV infrastructure all contribute to a system that is easier for staff to use and maintain.

Keeping Up with Technology

As an Epson Premium Partner, D.I.B Audio Visual maintains a close working relationship with Epson and stays informed about new products, technologies and developments.

Combined with more than 20 years of experience working with the manufacturer’s projection solutions, this allows our team to provide recommendations based on current technologies that align with each school’s educational and operational requirements.

Rather than selecting equipment based solely on specifications, schools can receive advice that considers how the technology will be used in day-to-day teaching and learning.

Complete Audio Visual Solutions

Some school projects involve more than a single display device.

Depending on the space and teaching requirements, an AV system may also include:

Interactive displays

Audio systems

Wireless presentation solutions

Video conferencing

Control systems

Digital signage

D.I.B Audio Visual designs projection solutions as part of integrated AV systems that support teaching, communication and collaboration across the school.

Supporting Schools Beyond Installation

Installation is one stage of a successful AV project.

Schools may also value ongoing support to help maintain the performance and reliability of their AV systems over time.

D.I.B Audio Visual offers support services that can assist schools after installation. Depending on the school’s needs, this may include system servicing, technical support, maintenance and advice when planning future technology upgrades.

Experience Across Victorian Schools

For more than 27 years, D.I.B Audio Visual has partnered with schools across metropolitan and regional Victoria, designing and delivering audio visual solutions that support teaching, communication and collaboration.

Throughout this time, we’ve also worked closely with Epson for more than 20 years, giving our team extensive experience applying projection technology across a diverse range of education projects.

This experience has provided our team with an understanding of the practical considerations involved in education projects, including:

Staged technology rollouts

Holiday installation schedules

Budget planning

Standardising classroom technology

Supporting school IT teams

Integrating new systems with existing infrastructure

Combined with thoughtful AV design and quality technology, this experience enables D.I.B Audio Visual to deliver solutions with educational environments in mind.

Choosing the Right AV Partner

Selecting audio visual technology involves more than comparing product specifications.

Schools may benefit from working with an experienced AV partner who understands education environments, provides thoughtful system design and delivers professional installation supported by ongoing service.

D.I.B Audio Visual’s Epson Premium Partner status reflects more than two decades of experience working with one of the education sector’s leading projection manufacturers, while our broader expertise extends to designing complete AV solutions tailored to the unique needs of each school.

Today’s classrooms are more connected than ever before. From displaying lesson content and sharing digital resources to supporting hybrid learning and classroom collaboration, audio visual technology has become an essential part of modern education.

For schools, investing in classroom AV is about more than choosing the latest technology. It’s about creating learning spaces that are reliable, easy to use and designed to support both teachers and students every day.

At D.I.B Audio Visual, we understand that the best classroom AV systems are the ones that work seamlessly in the background. Every solution is designed with usability, reliability and long-term performance in mind, helping schools create learning environments where technology supports teaching rather than becoming a distraction.

Every Classroom Has Different Requirements

No two schools are exactly alike. Room sizes, teaching styles, curriculum requirements and existing infrastructure all influence the right AV solution.

Before recommending equipment, D.I.B Audio Visual takes the time to understand how each learning space will be used. Factors such as viewing distances, classroom layouts, natural lighting, acoustics, existing infrastructure and future technology requirements are all considered during the design process.

Careful planning by D.I.B Audio Visual ensured a neat, consistent finish across every classroom installation.

Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach, every classroom AV system is tailored to meet the specific needs of the school, ensuring the technology aligns with both educational goals and day-to-day teaching.

Readability Matters in Every Classroom

One of the most important considerations in classroom AV design is readability. Regardless of where students are seated, lesson content should be clear, easy to read and visible throughout the room. Achieving this requires more than selecting a projector or display—it involves designing the entire system around the classroom itself.

Display size, projector brightness, image resolution, viewing distances, ambient lighting and room layout all influence how well students can see presentations, diagrams, videos and written content. Careful planning helps ensure the technology supports effective teaching while providing a consistent viewing experience for every student.

Schools planning classroom upgrades may also benefit from understanding topics such as selecting the right screen size, determining the appropriate projector brightness and comparing different display technologies. D.I.B has developed several guides to help schools make informed decisions, including:

Classroom Projector Image Size Guide: Choosing the Right Screen Size for Schools

How Many Lumens Does a Classroom Projector Need?

Interactive Projector vs LCD Screen: What’s Better for Classrooms?

Designed Around Teachers and Students

Technology should make teaching easier—not more complicated.

Every classroom AV solution D.I.B designs is centred around the people who use it every day. That means creating systems that are intuitive for teachers to operate while ensuring students can fully engage with classroom technology.

Teachers should be able to enter a classroom, connect their device and begin teaching with minimal setup. Simple, consistent control interfaces reduce unnecessary complexity, minimise the need for technical support and allow teachers to focus on delivering lessons rather than operating equipment.

Depending on a school’s requirements, classroom AV solutions may include:

Interactive displays

Laser projectors

Classroom audio systems

Wireless presentation systems

HDMI and USB-C connectivity

Hearing augmentation systems

Simple room control interfaces

PTZ cameras and video conferencing capabilities for hybrid learning

Accessibility is equally important, particularly in specialist education settings where students have diverse physical and learning needs.

Commbox interactive display on a height-adjustable mount installed at the Broadmeadows Gym Stage Classroom.

At Broadmeadows Special Developmental School, D.I.B Audio Visual installed interactive panels on height-adjustable motorised brackets. This allows the displays to be positioned at appropriate heights for students of different ages, mobility levels and physical abilities. In a specialist learning environment, this flexibility helps ensure classroom technology remains accessible and practical for a wide range of users while supporting inclusive learning spaces.

By considering both teachers and students throughout the design process, D.I.B delivers classroom AV systems that are practical, accessible and straightforward to use across a variety of learning environments.

Consistency Across Every Classroom

Classrooms at Mackillop Catholic Regional College’s new St Mary’s Campus.
Consistency is often overlooked, but it can make a significant difference across an entire school.

When classroom technology operates in a similar way from room to room, teachers can move between classrooms with confidence without needing to learn different control systems. This consistency also simplifies staff training, reduces support requests and makes future upgrades easier for school IT teams.

Standardised classroom AV systems help schools manage technology more efficiently while creating a familiar user experience for staff across campus.

Reliable Systems for Long-Term Performance

Schools expect classroom technology to perform reliably throughout its lifespan.

D.I.B Audio Visual focuses on designing systems using commercial-grade equipment from established manufacturers while ensuring each installation is easy to maintain and support over time. Careful equipment selection, thoughtful system design and quality installation all contribute to dependable day-to-day operation.

The result is classroom technology that schools can confidently incorporate into daily teaching while supporting future expansion and upgrades when required.

End-to-End Classroom AV Services

Successful classroom AV projects involve much more than installing displays and speakers.

D.I.B Audio Visual provides a complete service that supports schools through every stage of the project, including:

Consultation and needs analysis

System design

Equipment supply

Professional installation

Programming and configuration

Testing and commissioning

Staff training

Ongoing service and technical support

Schools wanting to better understand what is involved in a complete classroom AV installation can also explore our guide, What’s Included in a Classroom Projection System?, which outlines the components that work together to create an effective learning environment.

Managing the entire process helps ensure each system is designed, installed and commissioned to meet the school’s operational and educational requirements.

Supporting Schools Across Victoria

For more than 27 years, D.I.B Audio Visual has partnered with schools across Victoria to design, install and support classroom audio visual systems that enhance communication, collaboration and everyday teaching.

Whether delivering AV solutions for general classrooms, specialist education facilities, STEM spaces or new school developments, D.I.B works closely with schools to provide technology that is practical, reliable and designed for long-term use.

Planning Your Next Classroom AV Project

Whether you’re upgrading a handful of classrooms, building a new learning facility or implementing a campus-wide technology refresh, thoughtful classroom AV design can make a lasting difference to the teaching experience.

By focusing on usability, accessibility, readability and consistency, schools can create learning environments where technology is easy to operate, supports a wide range of teaching styles and adapts to changing educational needs.

Be it a single classroom or a set of 100 classrooms, we are able to work with your school to design the perfect audiovisual system. We can help find the best solution for you and your budget. With new buildings being constructed, DIB Australia is able to help from the planning phase even before the building has begun to be constructed. This can enable us to suggest room designs and power and data locations that would best suit your audio visual requirements.

DIB Australia has been installing audiovisual systems for schools around Melbourne for over twenty years, and many have been clients for that entire time.

We are passionate about quality products and smart, professional design and install for a reason. Anybody who has ever attended a presentation where the sound was poor, or the visuals difficult to see – it can get in the way of the intended communication.

This is why we put some much energy into considering the space into which we are installing the projector screen or space. For example, hard surfaces and glasses can cause sound to bounce around the room requiring careful choice of speakers. Or projector installation points may require us to select a more compatible lens or a brighter projector in the design and specification stage.

The team at DIB are all about stimulating learning environments using the multiple sensory experience that high quality audiovisual equipment can bring to a space.

And we’re also able to help with the new challenges of recording and streaming classrooms for remote learning. In particular high tech subjects like science and food technology.

Take a look at our Classroom Portfolio to see examples of how we have helped schools and other educational institutions achieve their audio visual goals.

As always we remove and responsibly recycle any old equipment to divert it from landfill. A key plank of our commitment to sustainability and becoming a carbon neutral organisation.
