Project Overview
Djirri Djirri School, formerly Melton Specialist School, is a specialist school in Melton providing primary and secondary education for students with disabilities. The school takes an inclusive and developmental approach to learning, with specialist, vocational and life skills programs designed around individual student needs.
D.I.B. Audio Visual has worked with the school since 2014, supporting its AV requirements across a range of learning environments. For this project, D.I.B. provided a practical AV solution for the Food Technology room, helping teachers make hands-on demonstrations easier for the class to see and follow.
Food Technology classrooms present particular AV requirements, with teachers demonstrating techniques across different work areas. The solution centres around a 75-inch Philips Q-Line commercial display at the front of the room, supported by two Marshall CV508 Miniature HD Cameras providing dedicated views of the stove and preparation bench. This allows teachers to bring close-up demonstrations onto the main display, giving students a clearer view of activities taking place across the room.

The two cameras are installed on articulating arms, allowing their viewing angles to be adjusted when required. One camera focuses on the stove area, while the other provides a view of the preparation area, giving teachers flexibility to show different stages of a Food Technology activity.
The cameras also had to be carefully positioned around the large commercial range hoods above the cooking areas. Their placement needed to provide a clear view of the stove and preparation bench while avoiding direct exposure to cooking smoke, steam and heat.
An HDMI input plate allows teachers to connect a laptop and display recipes, instructional videos or other lesson content. A JED four-button wall control panel provides simple switching between the laptop and two camera views, allowing teachers to move from lesson content to the preparation bench or stove camera as the lesson progresses.
The completed installation gives Djirri Djirri School a practical AV setup tailored to its Food Technology room, helping teachers share demonstrations and digital content clearly with the class.
