Project Overview

Richmond Primary School is dedicated to fostering curious, creative and collaborative learners through inclusive and engaging learning environments. To support this vision, D.I.B Audio Visual delivered an integrated AV solution across classrooms, specialist learning areas and shared spaces, providing intuitive, reliable technology designed for everyday teaching.

Throughout the school, the Community Hub, General Purpose Classrooms, staff areas and shared display spaces were equipped with CommBox displays, HDMI connectivity and purpose-built mounting solutions, giving teachers quick access to presentation technology with minimal setup. The intuitive design means staff can focus on teaching, rather than operating complex AV systems.

A standout feature of the project is the flexible Community Hub and Music Room. While the spaces can operate independently for everyday classes, they can also be combined to accommodate larger presentations, performances and school events. To support this flexibility, audio and visual content can be shared seamlessly across the combined space, ensuring everyone enjoys the same presentation experience when the operable wall is opened.

At the heart of the space, a ceiling-mounted Epson 4,600 ANSI lumen standard throw laser projector paired with a 110-inch Grandview projection screen delivers a bright, large-format image for the combined room. When the spaces are opened up, presentations can also be shared simultaneously to strategically positioned CommBox displays, ensuring content remains clearly visible from multiple viewing points throughout the space.

Optimal Audio loudspeakers and a Mipro wireless microphone system provide clear, even sound, while Kramer video distribution enables content to be routed across the integrated AV system. A compact Extron touch control panel brings everything together with intuitive controls, allowing staff to switch between room configurations with just a few simple touches.

Specialist learning spaces were also designed around practical teaching. In the STEM and Food Preparation rooms, compact Marshall Full HD cameras capture live demonstrations from the teacher’s workstation and display them on the classroom screen, giving every student a clear view of practical activities. Interactive CommBox displays in the STEM room further support collaborative learning and classroom interaction.

Across the General Purpose Classrooms, articulated display mounts position the displays flush with the teaching surface rather than recessed within the surrounding joinery, creating better sightlines for students. The articulated design also provides easy access behind the displays, simplifying future servicing and maintenance. In selected spaces, ceiling speakers were incorporated to complement the architectural design while delivering clear audio throughout the room.

Working closely with the builder, architect and school, D.I.B Audio Visual delivered a solution that balances flexibility, functionality and ease of use. The result is a collection of learning environments that support everyday teaching while remaining adaptable to the school’s evolving needs.
