The latest addition to the Kingston City Council is the Westall Community Hub. This community center located in Fairbank Avenue, Clayton South will be a “multifaceted service and community education hub in Westall to meet the current and future needs of residents in the Northern suburbs of Kingston”. This community hub will contain features such as a public library branch with an e-focus, early education rooms and a number of flexible use meeting rooms. This hub has an emphasis on using technology for the benefit of the entire community. The Westall Community Hub as a $2.35 million project will be a premier center for education and entertainment.
In this development process, the Kingston City Council engaged the team at DIB Audio Visual in order to create a technology solution for the children’s library, located within the Westall Community Hub. The team at DIB with experience in catering to major refurbished libraries (See North Fitzroy Library, Bargoonga Nganjin) developed a technology solution for the children’s area within the library.
Installation process
The team at DIB addressed the Westall Community Hub’s needs and selected the CommBox Classic Interactive 80″ 4K Touch monitor. The Commbox Classic is perfect for a children’s learning area as it is interactive and easy to use. The large screen is inviting and engaging for young audiences. Additionally, it was installed low to the ground so young students can easily interact with it. The screen is has a modern and aesthetic design so it works well in the brand new library environment.
A combination CommBox Joey 6 control and HDMI, VGA+Audio and USB input system was installed discretely behind and below the CommBox so that it is easily controlled and connected with a variety of external digital devices.
