Lalor North Secondary College is a Year 7-12 co-educational school with a focus on teaching and learning. Lalor North College strives to foster a culture inspired by three words: “Inspire, Believe, Achieve”. This school philosophy underpins and defines how the college aims to educate its students, ensuring that students are supported in their schooling journey by dedicated staff who prioritise their students’ learning.
Lalor North College engaged DIB with the intention of upgrading the audiovisual system in their gym, leading to a more efficient, intuitive system.
The gym saw an installation of an EPSON Z11000WNL projector. With 11,000 ANSI lumens of brightness and 3LCD technology, this powerful projector creates ultra-bright, ultra luminous images. This is perfect for large spaces like gyms, ensuring readability regardless of how big the space is. The projector was also installed with an Epson ELPLL07 long throw lens, allowing the projector (which is mounted on the other side of the gym) to project a 160″ image onto a similarly sized motorised Grandview projector screen.
For audio reinforcement, DIB installed two Community V2-1200 loudspeakers. These two way, 200W speakers can effectively carry audio throughout the gym, ensuring that any sound can heard by anyone in the space. An AMB600 amplifier was also installed, which will run the Community speakers. Further, a 3.5mm socket was fitted, which allows for an audio device (like a iPod or iPhone) to have direct access to the speaker system, playing audio without needing the projector system to be turned on.
A Mipro ACT3 wireless microphone system was also supplied and installed. This dual channel microphone system is ideal for presentations or assemblies held in the gym. An additional microphone socket was also fitted, giving users the option to attach more microphones if needed.
To make the system easier and more intuitive to use, DIB installed two control panels: a JED (T460) wall control panel and an AM ICON audio control panel. The former takes the crucial features of the new system and places them in a central, easily accessible place, making it simple and easy for the user to turn the system on and off and selecting the source to be projected. The latter makes audio control a breeze, isolating only the audio functions functions that will be used on a day-to-day basis.
HDMI inputs were fitted at the front of the hall, and another in a nearby office. Both allows users to connect their devices to the projector, with the latter featuring an EPSON HDBaseT
Transmitter to ensure quality signals sent over long distances.
