Plan Ahead to Avoid Equipment Delays

Apart from the disruptions to our lives, school and work due to the Pandemic there have been other issues such as distribution and supply.

The DIB Audiovisual team would definitely recommend that you increase your planning schedules and get started as soon as possible on future AV works requirements.. 

There are serious manufacturing and distribution delays on many leading brands and products commonly used in Audio Visual installations.

We are currently advising customers (as of Oct 2021) of Product lead times up to a maximum of 6 months – this is traditionally unheard of in our space.

Part of this is due to lockdowns of manufacturing sites.

Part of it is due to shortages of sub-products such as IC chips.

Part of it is due to a worldwide shortage of ships and containers.

Soaring demand for physical goods thanks to government stimulus, coronavirus travel restrictions, more time at home and a global shortage of cargo containers has increased congestion and delays at the world’s ports and pushed up shipping costs.

In fact, the cost of shipping containers has risen more than 500% in some parts of the world.

Here are some tips from our team to assist you.

1. Bring forward design and specification of audiovisual systems in any renovation or build project planned.
2. Lock in quotes as soon as possible so products can be set aside or forward ordered for you
3. Increase speed of decision making to avoid prices rises which have been more regular recently.
4. Organise meetings to coordinate between your architect, builder, our design team and your school or organisation project manager.
