Skye Primary School aspires to prepare its students for the future. Their main aim is to prepare students to exit the school as confident thinkers ready to embrace the world’s challenges.
The school sought to enhance its learning environment by installing a state-of-the-art audio visual system. So naturally, when Skye Primary School contacted us, we were thrilled to help them achieve this.
The system was to be located in their gymnasium which they use for assemblies as well as sports games. Drawing upon our extensive experience in multi-purpose venues, we initiated a consultative process with all stakeholders to investigate the day-to-day operational requirements. To commence Skye Primary School’s DIBAV makeover, we drew up shop drawings to identify the best placement for the equipment. We then selected products that met the client’s needs and refined the system for ease of use.
After exploring different options, we decided to mount the projector on the wall opposite the screen. Despite the considerable distance between the two walls, our prior experience with similar challenges enabled us to select a lens that would produce clear, crisp images from a distance. To ensure the picture was bright we chose a 12,000 ANSI projector. This is just one of the many benefits of using a laser light source, alongside its high energy efficiency.
Knowing the projector would be at risk of damage during ball games, we strategically placed it inside a steel security cage. This mount provides protection from accidental impact and theft which is why it is essential in many of our projects. Additionally, to avoid damage to the screen we chose a drop-down smart screen so that it can be hidden away when not in use.
To accommodate the large size of the space, we installed a HDMI wall plate connection. This setup enables the laptop connected to be positioned as far as 30 meters away from the projector. This is part of DIB’s goal to design systems that make your life easier, which is why all our audio visual systems are paired with a simple user interface. The control panel we chose for Skye Primary School features nine programmable buttons which we typically set up to include on, off, volume up, and volume down. This panel will even turn the system off automatically if it is accidentally left on, saving projector life and power.
Skye Primary School’s DIBAV makeover was a success. We enjoyed working on this project, especially seeing the end result and knowing how much it will benefit the students. We take pride in staying in touch with our clients even after a project is finished, making sure the system runs smoothly and offering support if needed.
