One of five of its kind across the North Western suburbs of Melbourne, Catholic Regional College Caroline Springs delivers quality education outcomes to students from years 7-10. The school provides a varied curriculum, giving students the opportunity to grow their skills and knowledge across a wide range of disciplines. DIB Australia have worked with schools across the Catholic Regional College family, and on this occasion were approached by CRC Caroline Springs for the installation of a new school gym projector.
The school’s previous hall projector was not bright enough. The screen was dull and it made for an unpleasant and difficult viewing experience. Thankfully, projector technology has progressed to the point that leading models are stunningly bright and perfectly capable in high-light conditions. An Epson EB-Z11000WNL was installed in the school gym – a cinema quality projector with an impressive 11,000 lumens of brightness. This provides a vibrant, highly detailed image that will make for a effortless viewing experience in the hall from all angles and distances.
To help simplify the system, control over the audio and vision components of the projector were separated. An Extron wall control panel was configured to handle video, with buttons to turn the system on and lower the screen or turn the system off and raise the screen, along with controls to choose between the different inputs. Below it, a second panel was installed to handle audio controls. This was linked to a set of new speakers along with the hall’s existing microphones, giving staff an easy was to operate all audio aspects of the system without having to tamper with volume mixers.
The DIB team added in a HDMI wall plate input in the bio box at the school gym’s rear. Existing VGA inputs were integrated in to the new system.
