U3A or University of the 3rd Age, is a not-for-profit organisation that provides a place where over 50’s can share their skills and life experiences with others. Volunteers support the work to provide this unique opportunity where over 50s can keep their mind and body active.
Our DIB Solutions Consultant, Gabi, went out to meet with volunteer staff at U3A Manningham, to assist with an AV upgrade in one of their rooms. Being a not-for-profit organisation, Gabi worked closely with staff to find a good solution, which worked well with existing equipment and that would work met their budget requirements.
After discussing the needs of the end user of the space, an AV solution was decided upon and installed. As part of the upgrade at the Manningham branch, a brand new Epson EB-1980WU (Full-HD) projector was installed. This projector gave the room a high quality image to project onto their existing projection screen.
Inputs to the Epson projector included both HDMI & VGA (+ audio) as for laptops or tablets to connect to the main display. An audio upgrade was also part of the installation, with Australian Monitor QF8 speakers mounted in the ceiling, as well as an Australian Monitor 60w amp to power the AM QF8 speakers.
Overall, DIB have provided an AV installation that will allow U3A staff and guest speakers to share content with a high quality display, including the ability to use more current inputs, such as HDMI.
