The current AV install by DIB was for Victoria Police’s Forensic Services Department in Macleod. The job was for a projector upgrade of two adjoining training rooms. They were having trouble with their existing projector system which was clunky, outdated, and unintuitive. The DIB team always put a focus on ease-of-use for every install no matter how complex the system is. We always make sure that our AV solutions can be operated quickly and easily by anyone, regardless of technical expertise.
The existing projectors were upgraded to EPSON EB-1985WU’s. These are great all-round projectors, excelling in all aspects while maintaining an affordable price point. The EB-1985WU has brilliant colour and amazing image quality, making for a great viewing experience from all angles.

The DIB team worked to create a more user-friendly system to control these new projectors. This started with the installation of two control panels in each room. The first was an Extron MLC 50 plus wall controller. This model provides a simple 6 button interface for control over the projectors, with essential functions such as ON, OFF, mute and, source selection. These panels also automatically lower the projector screen when the system is turned on. Second, an ICON control panel was installed in both rooms. This clearly labelled panel allowed for control of the audio side of the system, with buttons for volume and choosing between different microphones.

Since the rooms were often combined to form one larger training area, DIB installed hardware to allow the same image to be mirrored onto both screens at once. This ‘dual mode’ could be selected from the control panel in the first room, also playing the same audio for both rooms.
