With a vibrant, faith-centred learning community, St. John Vianney’s is a Catholic Primary school that strives to provide high quality education. With a focus on literacy, numeracy and religious education, students are supported not only by dedicated and professional teaching staff, but by different programs that are run to better cater for the needs of all students. St. John Vianney’s recognises that having modern facilities further enhances the educational experience for the students.

St John Vianney’s engaged the team at DIB with the intention of installing new AV systems in their equally new admin building. After consultations with the client, DIB formed a technological solution that would best answer the needs of the staff and students utilising the space.

Installation process

This project involved installing new equipment in four different areas of the building: Library Presentation Space, Campfire Space, Reception and a meeting room. Please click here to learn more about the installations in the latter two rooms!

The Library Presentation Space saw the installation of an EPSON EB-2265WU installation projector. With 5,500 ANSI lumens of brightness and WUXGA widescreen full HD resolution, this projector produces ultra-bright, colourful images that immediately demand your attention. This is crucial for retaining audience focus during presentations and lessons.

Users are given many ways through which they can connect their devices to the projector, from local connectivity such as HDMI and VGA to wireless display, which lets users project and control the presentation from a remote location. A 120″ Grandview Manual Projection Screen was also installed for use alongside the projector.

While the projector has in-built 16W speakers, DIB installed a pair of 50 watt Kramer powered stereo speakers, which are perfect for audio reinforcement. These speakers ensure that audio can be carried throughout the entire space. A 3.5mm socket was also fitted to allow users to connect their iPod or MP3 player directly to the speaker without needing to turn on the projector.

For the Campfire Area, a Philips 55″ Commercial Lite monitor was installed. With a slim and neat design, this versatile monitor can be used in any modern classroom. With full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution, images displayed on the monitor will be crisp and sharp, which is essential for readability. The monitor also gives users opportunities for connecting their devices, including in-built HDMI and VGA inputs.

Both areas were fitted with a Joey Micro 6 wall control panel. By condensing all of the newly installed systems’ functions into one central place, this panel makes using the new systems simpler and easier. These panels are usually set up with buttons that turn the system on and off, control the volume and select the source to be projected.
