Kilvington Grammar School is an independent Baptist school that takes pride in offering a comprehensive education from early years to VCE. Kilvington Grammar strives to foster a rich, diverse coeducational environment where girls and boys are provided with a wide range of opportunities that not only help them excel academically, but also prepare for the world beyond the classroom. This type of environment aids in the school’s focus on encouraging the intellectual, emotional, physical, social and spiritual development of each student. In wanting to maintain their reputation as a school of excellence, Kilvington Grammar recognises the importance of updating their AV systems in order to better meet the technological needs of their staff and students.
The DIB team was approached by Kilvington Grammar and expressed an interest in upgrading the AV system in their Dalton Hall. This project involved the installation of a new projector system and screen and a wireless microphone system.
Installation process
The EPSON EB-G7200WNL projector (with short throw lens) was selected for installation. With 7500 ANSI lumens of brightness and WXGA resolution (1200 x 800), this projector consistently produces incredibly bright and vivid images. This is perfect for large areas such as a hall as higher brightness and a high resolution ensures readability throughout a vast space. The projector features split screen capabilities, which allows the user to display content side by side from two inputs simultaneously, which makes for effective content sharing. To go along with the projector, a ScreenTechnics 160″ ViewMaster 16:10 Rear Throw Motorised Projector Screen was installed by DIB.
The team at DIB also installed two new Seinnheiser wireless microphone systems. Part of the G3 series, the systems feature handheld microphones that produce high quality audio with better sound and range from its predecessors. As such, it is less likely to suffer from interference issues that can often be grating to listeners.
As there are a variety of audio outputs, to streamline this DIB installed an AMD200 core amplifier system. Featuring a Class D amplifier and DSP control, this system allows for audio control from mulitple sources such as the microphones and audio from the projector. This is even further simplified with the AM ICON audio control panels installed near the stage and in the Bio Box, which ensures that users will only have access to the audio features they need day to day and not other important settings.
An Extron MLC 50 Plus wall control was also installed near the stage and in the Bio Box. These wall controllers simplify the operation of the other equipment. They are usually fitted with buttons that turn the system on and off, control which input will be displayed and played, and control the volume.
