DIB Australia and International House, an off-campus housing college for Melbourne University students, have been working together on various AV projects throughout the campus with the latest being the Audio Visual upgrade for the Junior Common Room.
The Junior Common Room (or JCR) was primarily to be a resource for the students, with access to a large projector and screen system with the view to also use this space as a large presentation room with microphones and high quality audio.
With the knowledge that the aesthetics and neatness of the installation were extremely important, the DIB team were able to conceal cabling and projector screen (which only becomes visible on lowering) and even design a custom powder coated casing to fit onto rear of projector.
End result was a beautiful looking installation which was made easy to use by the two wall control panels installed at the front of the space which controlled both the projector source selection and also audio/microphone volume.
