Established in 1997, Caroline Chisholm Catholic College is a co-educational high school located in the suburb of Braybrook. It has three campuses. Its relationship with DIB began in 2006, and continues to be a success to this day.
Caroline Chisholm Catholic College recently converted its senior common room into a study centre. The brightly lit space has tables and chairs, as well as comfortable, stylish leather couches. In July this year, DIB installed an AV System to complete this space. The technology included two Epson 4950WU projectors allowing multi projector virtual display via the Epson EasyMP application and motorised projector screens.
The college approached DIB needing a presentation AV system that on the one hand wouldn’t dominate the room, as it is a multipurpose area, but that on the other hand would be visible across the entire space. It was important that the audio-visual equipment be protected and out of sight as to minimise risk of damage when the space was not being used for presentation purposes. Finally, it was essential that teachers could use the audio-visual system easily, without a lot of training.
As the work begun, DIB overcame several challenges unique to the VCE study space. A balance had to be found in order to maintain the effectiveness of the projector and the brightness of the room coming through the windows. The main obstacle was coming up with a solution that meant the equipment was concealed in a safe place, given the way the building was constructed. This solution was a Screen Technics remote controlled in-ceiling motorised projector lifter.
Caroline Chisholm Catholic College is now embracing its new study centre, harnessing the potential for growing, learning, and making presentations to both students and the wider community for events like parent information nights.
