Belmore School, a specialist school located in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne, recently engaged DIB to assist with upgrading their main multi-purpose space. As this space was to be used for not only for presentations/assemblies but for general purpose and student activities, DIB assisted with coming up with a solution that would work seamlessly in this space.
Due to the ceiling hoists installed in the main front area, a standard front projector system would be difficult to install and potentially even a hazard, therefore a rear-throw projector system was proposed. The chosen projector, a bright Epson G-6250W coupled with a rear throw lens, was installed in the back space. The motorised screen was also custom ordered to be reverse rolled. This meant it could be mounted easily to the inside of stage area, hiding the cannister, with only the image to be seen from the front.
The projector and screen was then paired with a premium sound system with external speakers and microphones which could also be used independent of the projector system (for when there was to be dance/sports activities in the space which required an iPod only to be plugged in for music).
End result was a very neat and easy to use system, which did not impose on the space and could even be hidden away all together by closing the bi-folding doors.
