Fresh installation for Melbourne Girls Grammar studio

Since 1893, Melbourne Girls Grammar prides itself on being a front runner in girls’ education. Melbourne Girls Grammar strives to empower their students and encourage them to be more confident in their capacity to achieve high academic standards. With innovative learning and co-curricular programs, supplemented by state-of-the-art facilities, the school not only prepares students for the ever-changing and fast-moving world beyond the classroom, but provides them opportunities to discover who they are meant to be. This dedication to empowering young women means that the school actively revamps their technological facilities, ensuring that the students have the best resources at their disposal.

Melbourne Girls Grammar engaged the team at DIB with the task of installing new AV equipment in their drama studio. This primarily involved the installation of a new projector system.

Installation process

The EPSON EB-G7000WNL installation projector – which was ceiling mounted using a Skyhook universal ceiling bracket – was selected for this room, as its features best suit the needs of the students and staff who will use the room. With 6,500 ANSI lumens of colour / white light output and WXGA (1280 x 800) resolution, the projector is capable of producing ultra bright, vibrant images. This means that any displayed photos and text look clear and sharp, ensuring readability throughout the classroom. The projector also features a broad range of connectivity option, including HDMI and VGA. A 160″ 16:10 Grandview Motorised Projector Screen was also installed to be used alongside the projector. To provide some form of audio support, DIB further integrated the new AV system with the existing audio system.

DIB fitted a JED (T460) four button wall control panel to prioritise simplicity when using the new system. These panels – which remove the need for multiple, easily lost remotes – condense all of the system’s features into one central place. The panels come with buttons that turn the system on and off, control the volume and select the source to be projected.
