Fitzroy High School is a co-educational school located in North Fitzroy catering to students from Year 7 to Year 12. The school promotes a holistic educational practice so that all students can “fulfil their capabilities in academic, intellectual, social, emotional and physical development”. The learning promoted by Fitzroy High School aims to be rigorous and comprehensive so that students become independent learners full of initiative. In order to create this comprehensive learning environment, Fitzroy High School requires the best technology to be implemented. This ensures that the students are furthering their skills in technology, which will be useful for further study or any vocational pathway.
For this particular project, Fitzroy High School engaged the team at DIB Australia in order to upgrade one of their existing classrooms. The DIB team consulted the school in order to elucidate their needs and desires, and create a custom tech solution.
The DIB team selected the EPSON EB-675W 3200 ANSI WXGA Ultra Short Throw Projector for this classroom. The ultra short throw technology is perfect for classroom use as it eliminates the effect of any shadow or glare in the classroom. This ensures vividly bright images are produced which engages the students. The EPSON EB-675W also has 3200 ANSI Lumens to make the images even more luminous.
Additionally, two EPSON 15 Watt 2-way Stereo speakers in white were installed in the classroom. These speakers create an even and clear sound so that all students are able to hear what is being played. This installation also features a separate auxiliary input which may be used for direct IPOD or audio MP3 device connection.
Moreover, a HDMI input plate connection was also installed in order to connect with the system. The Joey Micro 6 simplified wall control panel was placed in the classroom so as to control the projector and speakers system.
