The Junior School of Presbyterian Ladies’ College (PLC) is dedicated to providing a rich learning environment. PLC encourages and challenges students whilst allowing them to thrive and develop at their own pace. In doing so, the school helps girls gain a strong understanding of the world. Thus, PLC understands the importance of having the latest technology in developing a culture of intellectual rigour, crucial in teaching the leaders of tomorrow.

The team at DIB Australia worked with PLC to improve one of their classrooms in the Junior School, wanting to enhance student engagement in the classroom. This led the team at DIB to install an interactive projector, a technological solution that is captivating to students and useful for teachers.

Installation process

The EPSON EB-696Ui Ultra Short Throw Finger Touch Interactive projector was chosen for this purpose. Because the projector is interactive, it comes with a special pen that transforms any whiteboard into a big touchscreen. This adds an element of fun to the classroom that students love, making them pay more attention to the lesson. The self-calibrating pen does not need any additional hardware or driver to work, removing hassle when trying to use the projector. Additionally, students can also use their fingers to interact with the projector.

The 3800 ANSI Lumens, 16,000:1 contrast ratio and full HD resolution capabilities of the projector provides high-quality, crystal clear displays. This allows the projector to create vibrant images that further attracts the attention of students. Since it is an ultra-short throw projector, fewer shadows and glare obscure the clarity of the image.

A low-gloss Whiteboard Vitreous Enamel 1.2 x 1.8m was also installed. The whiteboard has a very flat, ceramic type surface that is perfect for interactive and ultra short throw projection.

DIB also installed HDMI, VGA Audio and USB input plates, allowing users to connect their external devices in the way most comfortable to them.
