Melton Secondary College is a co-educational secondary school which offers top-quality education to over 900 students. Melton Secondary College, located in Melbourne’s Western suburb of Melton, has been in operation since 1975 and offers students a dynamic curriculum. The school boasts that it is “large enough to offer a challenging and diverse curriculum, the school is small enough to foster individual development”. The school has well-planned courses which seek to challenge students and encourage improvement. Part of this curriculum includes educational technology. It is expected that students will use technology to enhance their personal and collaborative learning.
Melton Secondary College engaged DIB Australia in order to come up with a technology solution for their four new portable classrooms. It was important for the school that these classrooms were functional and contain the very best in educational technology. For the portable classroom installations, great care was taken to uncover the most appropriate technology which would be easy to use for the staff and help the students.
Installation process
As such the EPSON EB-685W 3500 ANSI WXGA Ultra Short Throw Projector was selected. This projector is ultra short throw which means that glare and shadows are reduced so the projector is completely functional, even when the classroom curtains are open. This makes for easy, quick classroom use. Additionally, with a brightness of 3,500 lumens the whites and colours projected are vivid and engaging. The projector also has wide connectivity so that it is compatible with a variety of devices.

HDMI and a VGA and Audio input plates were installed so that it is easy to connect between devices and the projector.

Moreover, the team at DIB installed two EPSON 15 Watt 2-way Stereo speakers. These speakers provide crystal clear sound which easily fills the whole classroom.
A JED T440 six button wall control panel was also installed so that the entire system can be effortlessly controlled. The buttons include On, Off, PC, Video, Volume up and Volume
down control.
