Penola Catholic College is a secondary college with campuses located in Broadmeadows and Glenroy. The college was established in 1995 and caters to over 1400 students. Penola College states on their website that their “broad curriculum offerings allow students to pursue both academic and vocational pathways.” The school is forward thinking, acknowledging that information technologies are increasingly shaping the way we work and play. As a result of this, Penola College equips each of their classrooms with the very best in educational technology. The school uses audio visual equipment to enhance all their lessons and teach their students using dynamic, innovative equipment.
Penola Catholic College approached the team at DIB Australia in order to improve the audio visual capabilities of three of their secondary school classrooms. DIB engaged with Penola in order to uncover the needs and desires of the staff and students who would be using these classrooms.
Installation process
The team at DIB selected the EPSON EB-695Wi WXGA 3,500 ANSI Interactive Finger Touch Projector for the three classrooms. The projector was selected as it has the capability for interactivity. This means that up to four touches at one time can be processed so that many students at one time can interact with the projection. This capability makes classes fun and intereactive. Additionally, the projector has 3,500 Lumens, this makes each image vivid and bright. The colour resolution also makes the presentations and videos projected more engaging.
DIB also installed a low gloss Vitreous Enamel Whiteboard. This is imperative so that the projector has a clear, luminous back drop. These whiteboards have a ceramic type surface and are very flat which is ideal for ultra short throw and especially interactive
projection.
Additionally, a HDMI, Audio and USB wall input plate was also installed.
