The State Control Centre is Victoria’s main control centre for managing emergencies, acting as a support for Emergency Management Victoria. State Control Centre has the primary role of helping the Emergency Management Commissioner meet State control priorities and objectives. This includes ensuring that the State Response Controller and State Control Team maintain awareness of the situation at hand. This includes giving appropriate and timely warnings and information to communities, prioritising the allocation of resources, and providing support to State and regional personnel. Because of the State Control Centre’s role in emergencies, they require the best, most up-to-date technology.
Installation process
The team at DIB upgraded a camera in the State Control Centre’s media conference room to a VC-G30SU 15x Optical Zoom 3GSDI/DVI/USB PTZ Camera. This stable, quiet Camera has many incredible features, notably its wide pan/tilt/zoom mechanism. With a horizontal viewing angle between -170° to +170° and a tilting angle between -30° to 90°, this Camera covers a wide range of area. With 15x optical zoom, the Camera can also zoom into a video to focus on a specific detail without losing its quality. The Camera is also able to record full HD 1080p high definition with a high frame rate of 60fps, which allows for crystal clear and fluid footage.
A long expandable ceiling mount was also installed to ensure that the Camera’s full capabilities are used. The ceiling provides more height, allowing the Camera’s wide pan/tilt/zoom functionalities to truly shine, capturing images and footage from all sides.
