As such, the school employs the latest technology to ensure that both students and teachers have the best resources necessary to supplement their teaching/learning.

The team at DIB was approached by Balwyn Primary, who expressed an interest in getting new AV equipment installed in their new portable classrooms. After listening to the needs of the client, DIB sought to provide a solution that catered to these requirements.

Installation process

For both portable classrooms, an EPSON EB-695Wi Interactive Finger Touch Projector was installed. This incredibly versatile projector is central for the modern classroom. As the projector is interactive, it can transform any flat surface such as a whiteboard or a table surface and turn it into a large touch screen. Teachers can utilise this equipment to create a more hands-on lesson for students, as users can use their fingers or the special pens to interact with the screen. This is perfect for boosting student engagement in the classroom. Teachers are also spared from any hassle and stress when setting up the projector: there is no additional hardware to install and the system is self-calibrating, lessening the time needed to prepare for the lesson.

The projector’s 3,500 lumens colour/white brightness, coupled with WXGA (1280 x 800) resolution, ensures that any produced images are incredibly vivid and vibrant, with text that appears crisp and sharp. This ensures readability throughout the whole room.

While the projector has 16W built-in speakers, DIB installed an EPSON 30 Watt speaker system to act as a form of audio reinforcement. This ensures that audio played can be heard clearly by everyone in the room. Additionally, a 3.5mm socket was also fitted to allow for the direct connection of an iPod or MP3 device to the speaker system, allowing audio to be played without needing to turn on the projector system.

A HDMI (with integrated VGA/Audio) input plate was also fitted to give users more local ways to connect their devices. Further, a USB wall plate was fitted for use with the projector. Users can plug in a USB stick and directly save notes from the projector, which can then be emailed to or printed for students for easy lesson material sharing.
