In doing so, the College uses the latest in educational technology as a means of supplementing a student’s learning.
Ringwood Secondary engaged the team at DIB when it came to installing AV equipment in their new junior school building. This involved the installation of a new projector and speaker system in 13 classrooms.
Installation process
In 11 of the classrooms, the team at DIB selected the EPSON EB-695Wi Interactive Finger Touch Projector to be installed. With its interactive capabilities, the EB-695Wi is perfect for any modern classroom. Many students, using their fingers or the special pens, can engage simultaneously with the projection as the projector can process up to four touches at one time. This style of hands-on learning promotes more engagement in the classroom. Additionally, the projector’s 3,500 ANSI lumens of brightness make any projected images luminous and vibrant.
While the projector comes with 16W built-in speakers, EPSON SP02 30W powered speakers were installed to provide an extra source of audio reinforcement. This ensures that any audio can be heard by everyone in the room. Further, a 3.5mm socket was fitted to give iPods/MP3 players direct speaker connection. This means that audio played from these devices can be heard through the speakers even if the projector isn’t on.
A JED T430 2-button control panel was also installed to simplify the operation of the new system. The panels come with two buttons: one that turns the system on and off, and one that selects the source to be projected.
Two other classrooms, which are essentially collaborative working space, had different projectors installed. The first room was fitted with an EPSON EB-2155W Installation Projector. Notable for its 5000 ANSI lumens of brightness and WXGA widescreen resolution, the projector is able to produce high-quality, ultra-bright and vivid images. This is perfect for bigger collaborative areas, as it ensures that everyone can see the projected images, regardless of unfavorable lighting or location in the room. To go with this projector, a motorised Grandview Smartscreen 120″ 16:10 Projector Screen was installed.
For the second room, an EPSON EB-G7200WNL projector was fitted. With 7500 ANSI lumens of brightness and WXGA resolution (1200 x 800), this projector is capable of displaying incredibly bright and vivid images, which is central to capturing a student’s attention. Additionally, EPSON G7000 Middle Zoom Lens was fitted onto the projector. This lens will enable a 150″ diagonal projection image to be displayed by the projector even if it is 14m away from the screen. To go along with the projector, a ScreenTechnics 150″ ViewMaster 16:10 Rear Throw Projector Screen was installed by DIB.
The team at DIB also installed JED T460 four button wall control panel in both rooms. Much like the previous JED T430, these panels provide an ease of control to the newly installed systems by condensing all of their functions in one place. The T460 comes with buttons that turn the system on and off, control the volume and select the source to be displayed.
