Mackillop Catholic Regional College, located in the Melbourne suburb of Werribee is a co-educational high school. The school has been in operation since 1970 and since then has provided students with the best educational opportunities. The school offers a range of speciality subjects including the teaching of ICT. Mckillop stated on their website that they “believe that we live in exponential times of change and information expansion which directly impacts upon our educational environment”. In order for the school to provide a contemporary learning landscape, they encourage students and staff to embrace technology as a learning aid.
Mackillop Catholic Regional College approached the team at DIB Australia in order to upgrade the audio visual capabilities of the school’s Anderledy Centre. This particular project required the upgrade of 6 classrooms. The team at DIB consulted the staff to understand how these classrooms would be used, what preferences the staff had and which year levels they would be catering to. After gathering this information, the DIB sales team created a custom technology solution.
Installation process
For these classrooms, an EPSON EB-685Wi 3500 ANSI WXGA Ultra Short Throw Interactive Projector was selected. This particular projector boasts 3500 lumens of brightness. This means that the images are engaging and vibrant. Additionally, this EPSON projector is ultra short throw. This means that glare and shadows do not affect the image quality. Moreover, the projector is interactive which makes it perfect for classroom use. The students are able to interact with the technology using speciality pens and finger touch.

Additionally, an HDMI laptop connection was installed in each of the classrooms. This means that the students and staff were able to successfully connect to the newly installed projector.

The team at DIB also reconfigured the existing Joey control panels. This means that the control panels could easily operate the newly installed projector.
