Beverley Hills Primary School is committed to maximising the academic and social development of every child in the school. With a broad and expansive curriculum, Beverley Hills PS aims to foster excellence in a friendly and co-operative environment. The school takes pride in providing a wide range of learning experiences, including extra-curricular opportunities, that promote self-confidence by improving skill levels. This is particularly important for future success in an increasingly changing social and economic environment, where people need a range of social and intellectual skills to fully adapt and participate fully in society.
Beverley Hills PS worked with the team at DIB to upgrade the audiovisual system in their staff room. This involved the installation of a new projector and speaker system.
Installation process
For this project, an EPSON EB-685Wi Ultra Short Throw Interactive Projector was selected for installation. This projector is perfectly suited for any classroom or learning environment. The projector is interactive, meaning that it can transform any flat surface into an interactive whiteboard. Students and teachers alike can use the special pens or their fingers to interact with the projector, which can be utilised by teachers to change-up the usual lesson plan. Using the projector is also easy, as the projector is self-calibrating and driver-free. Teachers can simply get on with the class without needing to fiddle with technology.
Moreover, the projector’s 3500 ANSI Lumens of output and WXGA resolution means that it can produce high-quality, ultra-bright and vivid images that can augment any presentation or display. Because it is ultra-short, it further reduces the shadows and glare that may detract from the clarity of the display.
A 1.2 x 2.1m low-gloss vitreous enamel whiteboard was installed to be used with the projector. These whiteboards have a ceramic-type surface and are very flat, which is perfect for interactive projection and projectors of an ultra-short nature.
To match the projector system, an EPSON 30 Watt external powered speaker system was installed. This speaker system provides audio reinforcement for the built-in speakers in the projector.
To allow for users to connect their external devices, HDMI, VGA/audio input plate connections were installed. A USB wall plate was also installed for use alongside the interactive functionalities of the projector.
