Epson EB-980W projectors for Thomas Carr College

Thomas Carr College prides itself on shaping students into young people of faith and character. Thomas Carr College provides a comprehensive education that not only develop students intellectually, physically and emotionally, but instills an appreciation for spiritually within each student. Students are supported by both hard-working, highly qualified staff and state-of-the-art facilities throughout their schooling journey, helping them discover and pursue their passions and interests.

DIB was engaged by Thomas Carr College, who helped the school install new, more efficient projectors inside a gym classroom and inside a science lab.

Installation process

In both classrooms, an Epson EB-980W widescreen projector was installed. With 3,800 lumens of brightness, this projector can generate ultra-bright, vibrant images. This means that displayed content can be seen even if lighting conditions are less than optimal. The projector is also very user-friendly, being easy to set-up and to adjust, reliably producing sharp, clear images with no digital distortion. The Epson-980W also features a wide range of ways for users to connect their devices. The projector can be networked for wireless use, using either Epson’s EasyMP® Monitor software or through Epson’s iProjection app, allowing users to display content using their mobile devices. The projector also has HDMI and USB connectivity for local use.

For the gym classroom, an additional Epson 30 watt speaker system was installed. These two 15 watt speakers act as a form of audio reinforcement, carrying sound throughout the whole classroom.

In terms of simplicity and ease of access, DIB fitted a JED (T430) wall control panel. This panel features two buttons that turn the system on and off and change the source to be projected. These panels greatly simplify the operation of the system by making the most used features of the projector easily accessible. In a similar vein, DIB also fitted a HDMI input plate that makes connecting to the projector easier than ever.

For the science room, an existing JED control panel was re-programmed to suit the new projector.
