St Catherine’s is a frontrunner in girls’ education who is committed to nurturing and empowering young women through every step in their education. St Catherine’s strives to foster an encouraging, learning environment where students are not only imbued with the confidence, wisdom and integrity needed to become independent, global citizens, but with the self-assurance in their own unique capacities. In doing this, young women leave the college with a better appreciation of the world around them and in their own abilities, better positioning them to succeed and excel in any opportunity presented to them.
St Catherine’s employed the help of DIB when it came to upgrading the AV system in one of their boardrooms. After consulting with the clients, DIB formed a technological plan that would better cater to the needs of the staff who would use this room.
Installation process
The boardroom saw the installation of a 70″ CommBox Classic Interactive Touch monitor. With ultra HD, 4K (3840 x 2160) resolution, high brightness and a touch area of 65″, this monitor is perfect for any modern classroom. Allowing up to four points of touch (with a maximum of ten) to be registered at any one time, multiple staff can interact with the monitor, promoting more hands-on, productive meeting. This is furthered by the combined infrared and camera technology that allow for ultra fast and accurate touch responses. This versatile monitor also provides users with a wide range of connectivity options, from HDMI to VGA, to let users connect their devices, whether it be a MAC or a PC.
As a means of audio reinforcement, a CommBox Soundbar was installed. This passive soundbar hangs directly off and below your CommBox interactive screen, which is not only pleasing to look at, but it also does its job effectively without being intrusive.
DIB also designed and installed a custom screen frame that not only serves to increase the aesthetically pleasing nature of the room, but it also allows for other equipment to be hid behind the screen, keeping it away from fiddling hands.
To allow for easy, simple use of the system, a Joey Micro 6 wall control panel was fitted. By centralising all of the features of the new system, this ensures that everything the user needs is easily accessible. The panel usually comes with buttons that turn the system on and off, control the volume and select the source to be displayed.
