Heatherwood School caters for secondary aged students with mild intellectual disabilities and is located in the suburb of Donvale in Melbourne’s East.

One of their key values is the importance of students learning how to work cooperatively, collaboratively, and therefore when the time came to choose the Audio Visual for their brand new Learning Centre, they selected technology specifically designed to help enhance collaborative learning in the classroom.
Working closely with Heatherwood, DIB Audio Visual installed 10 x EPSON EB-696Ui Interactive Finger Touch Projectors with Full HD resolution. These projectors have 4 simultaneous points of touch, meaning both interactive pens, as well as two fingers, can draw on the board at once resulting in an increased level of interactivity in the classroom.
A pair of KRAMER 30W speakers were installed to further the audio experience in the room, along with an independent audio 3.5mm socket on the wall for the direct connection of an audio source to the speakers, meaning the audio system could be used without the projector being turned on, minimising lamp usage and distraction.

An HDMI plate and a combined HDMI and USB plate were installed for an easy to use laptop connection at the front of the room. The USB input allows for the interactivity feature of the projector to be used in conjunction with the device plugged into the HDMI port.

In addition, two Classrooms of slightly different configurations were installed, due to the operable walls within the spaces. As these rooms were slightly larger, DIBAV installed a ceiling-mounted EPSON EB-990 Full HD Projector and 120” Motorised Screen. The motorised screen can be full retracted & stored out of the way when the rooms are opened up.

Keeping things consistent, the Kramer Speakers, HDMI wall plate & JOEY6 Control Panels were also installed, making sure the connection to systems in all 12 rooms remained the same, regardless of the projector model.
