Preston North East Primary School (PNEPS), is a coeducational primary school, serving years P-6 in the Melbourne Northern Suburbs region.
PNEPS pride themselves on providing the best possible start for it’s students as they prepare for bright futures. Their school council strongly believes in free education for all students and have committed to have no student fees in 2019.
Always putting an emphasis on the high level academic achievement of its students, PNEPS wanted to ensure that when the time came to choosing technology for their new learning spaces within their two new buildings, a project funded by the Victorian Permanent Modular School Buildings Program, they selected technology that would increase student engagement, and enhance collaboration & project based learning within the classroom.
The EPSON EB-696Ui Ultra Short Throw Interactive Projectors were installed into eight of the learning spaces, with all locations within rooms specifically selected to enhance the optimum viewability & use for the students. As well as boasting an impressive 3,800 ANSI Lumens of brightness, the EB-696Ui’s are also WUXGA Resolution (1920 x 1200) and 16:10 format, delivering fantastic image quality.
To further enrich the EB-696Ui image quality and useability, large 1500 high whiteboard where installed to enable the IR sensor (which enables the finger touch interactivity) to be mounted directly on the whiteboard, without having to reduce the image size.
A fully interactive image size of 1200mm high x 1900mm wide was then still achieved. This almost 90” diagonal image assures that all students are able to easily view the content being displayed, an obstacle that is often encountered with displays almost half the size being installed in classrooms, such as 55” TVs.
To complement the EPSON projection system, a pair of EPSON SP02 powered wall mounted speakers were installed to provide solid and clear audio to all students within the room. A HDMI & USB wall input connection plate was also installed in each space to facilitate easy connection to the system. A 3.5mm Auxiliary input was also cabled directly to the speakers to allow them to be used without having to turn the projection system on.
