Audio visual installation’s are a critical component of any modern school building and Parade College in Melbourne’s north is no exception. As a long-standing Catholic school for boys in the Edmund Rice tradition, Parade College offers a vibrant learning community offering best practice education and pastoral care to its members to foster fullness of life and holistic growth for all.
With this Philosophy in mind, DIB Australia’s Sam Garden was pleased to assist the school with the design of custom audio visual solutions and spaces to suit the requirements of their Callan Wing Extension.
Working closely with the schools executive team alongside the IT department, various audio visual solutions were explored and evaluated before selection of the new building project.
As a long standing customer of DIB, we already had good understanding of what audio visual installation’s they preferred and what worked well for the school.
The typical classroom configuration continued along an updated version of their prior classrooms including Epson EB-585we, ultra short throw projectors, completed with HDMI and VGA + audio connections as well as a Commbox Joey micro control panel.
In keeping with the desire to maximise teaching and learning opportunities the school chose to install the FrontRow Juno speaker system complete with teacher and student microphones.

DIB maximised the value of the Juno system by integrating it’s full array of features via carefully designed user input plates.
A key audio visual installation in the new school building is the installation of the DiscoveryLab DL1000 system in one of the multipurpose spaces. This unique and very simple to use system allows teachers and students to capture video and audio in full HD quality of either whole lessons or sections as required. Capture can take in whatever is on the audio visual display or whatever is being done on a classroom whiteboard as well as what the students are doing (if required). The DiscoveryLab system allows three simple modes of capture and is operated with just the push of a single button. All video is recorded to USB for complete teacher or student control of the content.
