Powercor is a large electricity distributor in Victoria, managing poles, wires and equipment that deliver electricity to homes and businesses in Melbourne and through central and western Victoria.
Having worked with B2B Project & Construction in past projects for supply of AV design solutions and installations, when the team at Powercor required assistance for two new boardrooms in their CBD Head Office, they contacted the team at DIB Audio Visual.
After detailed consultation between DIB Solutions consultant James Ridd and B2B staff, a AV design was decided upon. The NEC 90 inch, Full HD TV (E905) would be the main display in the Director’s Boardroom, whilst the equally impressive NEC 80 inch (E805) panel was chosen for the General Manager’s Boardroom.

A key component of the design included Table boxes to be installed in the tables, so that the users can plug in their laptops at the table location.
Behind the scenes, the Extron IPCP Pro 550 control processor made the Extron TLP Pro 1020T 10 inch touch panel & Extron TLP Pro 720M 7 inch touch panel simple and easy to use. Control of the display systems was via these control panels, with the ability to combine both Conference Rooms for combined meetings, using both spaces simultaneously. Ipad control of the system was also provided via LAN or Wi-Fi, within the boardroom space.

The addition of a Bluray player and Digital Tuner for digital TV was also part of the boardroom AV solution. An Extron Amplifier, powering six Australian Monitor AM60CS flush mounted ceiling speakers provided audio in each space.
Polycom Soundstructure Audio Processor was included as part of the AV solution, which provides clear audio across both boardrooms, including acoustic echo cancellation, noise cancellation and feedback elimination when used for voice conferencing.

A small, but unique part of the install was twelve USB table inputs, which were mounted under the boardroom table.This allows users to easily charge a smartphones or tablet device. It’s this attention to detail that added value to the AV solution and helped meet the needs of staff at Powercor.
