Caulfield Grammar School is a private school with one campus located in Wheelers Hill. Caulfield Grammar School seeks to provide quality learning for all their students, shaping them into responsible citizens well equipped for the future. The school recognises that having the best in educational technology is important when providing the best learning experience. This commitment to having the best technological facilities possible means that their students have access to the best resources to supplement their learning.
Caulfield Grammar engaged the team at DIB for a big AV upgrade project. This involved updating the AV systems of seven classrooms at the Wheelers Hill campus. DIB worked to develop a plan that caters to the needs of the Caulfield Grammar staff.
Installation process
The EPSON EB-1450Ui 3800 ANSI WUXGA Meeting Mate FINGER TOUCH Interactive Projector was chosen to be installed in each classroom. These multi-function projectors are versatile and able to suit the needs of any space. They can transform a whiteboard into an interactive one, facilitating a more hands-on experience for students. Students are able to use a pen or their fingers to interact with the projector, allowing them to write as if writing on a whiteboard. Further, the split screen capabilities of the projector allow for two presentations to be simultaneously projected. Teaching staff can use this technology to plan a more engaging lesson.
DIB also installed an Apple TV (32GB model). Mounted atop the projector, the Apple TV is another resource the teaching staff can use to make a lesson more interesting.
A bundled control pad was also installed for better functionality. The control pad is neatly designed, allowing for efficient and intuitive operation of the projector. Further, an Extron MLC62 Simplified 8 button wall control panel was installed in each classroom. These wall panels get rid of the need for complex and easily lost remote controls and combine all their functionality in one place. The panels are typically set up to include buttons that turn the system on and off, control the volume and source selection.
For five of the classrooms, a pair of Kramer powered stereo speakers were installed. Each speaker enclosure features a 2-way speaker system including 5.25″ driver and 0.5″ tweeter. They are perfect for filling the classroom with sound, so every student can hear any audio projected. These speakers are on auto standby when not in use in order to conserve power. For the other two classrooms, DIB integrated the new projector with the existing AV system.
A USB Save plate was installed alongside each Meetingmate projector. This USB socket allows the user to save whiteboard notes directly to a USB stick. This allows for the teacher to send notes written on the board to students, so students do not miss out on any lesson content.
A USB wall plate, with integrated HDMI input, was installed. This allows for users to attach their external devices to the projector.
