Since its establishment in 1893, Melbourne Girls Grammar has built a reputation for excellence, priding itself on providing world-class learning programs, state-of-the-art facilities and a comprehensive co-curricular program to their students. Melbourne Girls Grammar equips and nurtures within their students with the attributes and skills necessary to meet the challenges of the dynamic, ever-changing world beyond the classroom. The college also provides students with opportunities to discover themselves, finding the version of themselves that represent who they are meant to be.
Melbourne Girls Grammar worked with DIB in installing new AV equipment for one of their classrooms. This primarily involved the installation of a VIVI system.
Installation process
Before DIB commenced with new installations, DIB allowed for the removal of old classroom equipment as Melbourne Girls Grammar is a valued client of DIB.
DIB installed new equipment to suit the room’s existing EPSON EB-585W projector. With 3,300 ANSI lumens of brightness, the projector can produce ultra-bright, dynamic images that, combining with the projector’s advanced network connectivity and wireless performance, makes it easier than ever to do engaging, vivid lessons. DIB also installed client supplied speakers, which provide audio reinforcement in the classroom.
The Vivi changes the educational landscape thanks to its screen mirroring technology, transforming the classroom into an interactive, collaborative learning space that works for students and teachers alike. As presenting through the Vivi is wireless, teachers are no longer restricted to teaching at the front of the room. Instead, teachers can move around the classroom and engage with students should they need any help. Not only that, students can also present through the software as well, allowing the teacher and the students’ peer to provide feedback as necessary. This more free flowing efficient learning environment increases student engagement in the classroom.
To make the audiovisual system easier to use, a JED (T460) wall control panel was installed. The panels take the crucial features of the system and place them in an easily accessible place, typically set up with buttons that turn the system on and off, control the volume and select the source to be projected.
A HDMI input plate was fitted in the room, which allows users to connect their devices to the projector locally.
