As Mentone Girls’ Grammar appreciates the importance of technology in education, DIB was employed to conduct a series of audiovisual upgrades and installations throughout their VCE centre.

Installations were conducted inside two of the larger spaces inside the VCE centre. The first space, a multi-purpose room, saw the installation of an 86″ Philips monitor. This ultra HD panel, with 4K resolution, produces detailed, luminous images that ensures content displayed doesn’t lose its clarity or readability.

The room’s speaker system was also revamped thanks to the installation of both an Australian Monitor amplifier and mixer set, and four Community Pro speakers. One pair of the speakers were installed at the front of the room, while the second pair were installed halfway down the room to provide audio-reinforcement for the back half of the room. DIB also installed an ICON wall control panel, allowing users to easily adjust audio volumes within the space. Additionally, an XLR microphone input socket, allowing for the connection of a microphone when required.

The second space, a Year 12 lounge area, was fitted with a new Epson EB-2265Wu installation projector. With 5,500 ANSI lumens of brightness and a WUXGA, full HD resolution, this projector generates ultra-bright, vibrant images, ensuring that content displayed can read regardless of the space’s lighting conditions. A motorised, 120″ Grandview projector screen was installed for use alongside the projector.

Supporting the projector’s built-in 16W speakers was a Kramer stereo speaker system, featuring two 30 watt speakers that can easily fill the classroom with sound playing from the projector.

Both of these large spaces were fitted with a 3.5mm aux. audio input, meaning that the installed speakers can be used to play audio from a connected device like an iPod or MP3 player, and HDMI/VGA input plates through which users can connect their device and display content on their respective displays.

Eight of the smaller classrooms, as well as the two larger spaces, were all fitted with an Extron MLC62 wall control panel. These panels ensure an intuitive and hassle-free control of an AV system, as the important features of the system (such as turning the system on and off, controlling the volume and selecting the source to be displayed) are placed in one, central location.
