As part of the 2017/18 Victorian Budget, a new investment allowed the complete rebuild of this clients av systems. This included replacing existing facilities whilst constructing new ones. One of the new facilities created was a professional development system. DIB Audio Visual is proud and honoured to have contributed to this project by developing a comprehensive, adaptable AV system for the centre’s larger conference room.
Installation process
The audiovisual system for the centre was designed to host conferences and meetings of any size.
Two 86″ Philips monitors were installed alongside two 48″ Philips monitors, which were ceiling mounted using Atdec ceiling posts. These four monitors were placed around the space such that any content displayed on them can be seen by everyone in the room. Additionally, the 86″ monitors’ 4K, ultra-HD resolution and the 48″ monitors’ full HD resolution ensures that the displays are bright, readable and clear, which is essential for conveying important information during conferences.
To ensure that the speakers can be heard throughout the space, DIB supplied and installed the Sennheiser Evolution G4 microphone system. This powerful system includes two lapel microphones that can be clipped onto the speaker, allowing them to walk around the space and be heard without sacrificing audio quality.
A Lectrum lectern was also installed should the speaker prefer to stand in one place and speak through a gooseneck microphone. The dress panel was also custom designed.
Additionally, should more microphones be needed, DIB fitted a microphone socket to allow for an easy connection of another microphone to the sound system.
Comprising the new speaker system is a pair of premium Community DS8 speakers, which is ideal for both for music and speech applications, and four AM ceiling speakers. These speakers work together to carry sound from the microphone system and the content being displayed on the screens. A 3.5 mm audio socket was also fitted so that users can connect their iPod or similar audio device and play audio directly to the speakers.
The system features a wide range of ways to connect one’s device to the monitors. Should speakers prefer to connect wirelessly, a Barco Clickshare wireless presentation system was installed. The Barco allows two users to present content from their laptops or tablets directly to the monitors without needing to plug their devices in. Should local connection be preferred, a HDMI input plate was fitted.
Controlling such an extensive system was made simple by DIB’s installation and programming of an Extron TLP Pro control panel. This wall-mounted touchscreen is set up to provide very intuitive, simplified control of the room’s audiovisual system, making all of the system’s important features (such as powering the system, controlling the volume, and selecting the source to be displayed) accessible within one to three button presses.
