Cornish College is one of the most unique and esteemed independent schools in Melbourne. They bring a holistic and innovative approach to student development with a focus on academic achievement, generating rick understandings and creativity. DIB Australia have worked with the College on many occasions to bring them the very best in education technology. Most recently, the DIB team were brought in to outfit a classroom with a complete interactive projector audio visual system.
The main component of this installation was the Epson EB-595Wi interactive projector. Designed especially for the classroom, the EB-595Wi is the perfect way to incorporate interactivity into lessons as a way of encouraging collaboration and reaching greater engagement. The projector produces an impressive image that is clear and high in detail. All Epson projectors edge ahead of the competition in terms of picture quality thanks to technology which allows them to display colours that are three times brighter than other devices. The Epson EB-595Wi also has finger touch, meaning that up to two people can interact using their fingers instead of the special pens. In total, the projector supports up to 4 simultaneous touches (2 with fingers, 2 with the special pens) to provide for group work and collaboration.
The classroom system was designed with the inclusion of an AppleTV box which allows for students and teachers with Apple devices (iPads, MacBooks, etc.) to connect to the projector wirelessly. This provides an easy way to mirror content from their devices onto the big projector screen without worrying about cables. VGA and HDMI wall input plate was also installed so that laptops could be connected in the traditional way as well.
The DIB team took care of every aspect of the installation, including the removal of the classroom’s old installed interactive whiteboard system.
