Balwyn High School is a large public school in Balwyn North, Melbourne. Despite catering to so many students, Balwyn achieves consistently excellent academic results in the VCE. These results are fostered by the school’s experienced teaching staff, modern facilities, and strong culture of learning.
DIB Australia have worked with Balwyn High many times over the years, performing installations to ensure that they have the latest in audio visual technology in order to best facilitate and compliment learning. This latest project involved upgrading an old projector model. Outdated technology can be a burden to schools, often becoming overly expensive and time-consuming to maintain. Furthermore, newer projector models are rich with modern features and provide a more refined experience.
A DIB audio visual specialist consulted with the school to work out the right system design for the unique space. The new projector system was to be installed into the wooden shelving as shown in the pictures below. This required a custom bracket system, specially designed by the DIB team to fit into the existing timbre space.
An EPSON EB-585W was the chosen projector to head the upgrade. It features an ultra short throw design, meaning that it sits close to and above the projection surface, casting an image that is free from glare or shadows when teachers or students are standing in front of it to present. The EB-585W also displays a stunningly bright image that can be seen from all over the classroom in many lighting conditions.
The school projector upgrade was installed with connection options for USB, HDMI, or VGA with audio. A range of input options are especially important for schools if a wide variety of different devices will need to be connected to the projector. To control the new system, a JED four button LCD control panel was installed to simplify operation.
