A subsequent project involved a complete redesign of the visual systems in the College’s Assembly Hall. The solution included two large drop-down motorised screens positioned on either side of the stage, with projectors installed in protective cages high on the side walls. An additional projector was installed above the 300-seat mezzanine area, projecting onto a large painted wall, along with another projector and drop-down screen in the foyer.

This design allowed for clear visibility across the audience, which can number close to 1,900 students and staff, while maintaining a clear stage area. The system also provides the flexibility to run each projector independently for professional development sessions or meetings.

The project was completed earlier in 2013, with technician Trevor Wilkinson leading the installation. He kept the College informed throughout the process and provided training following commissioning of the system.

At the time of writing, DIB Australia was also completing installations of interactive projectors and display screens in a new Year 9 Learning Centre.

Penola Catholic College acknowledged the contributions of Melanie Garden, Sam Garden, and the installation team for delivering a thorough and professional service, and recommended DIB Australia to other schools considering audio visual system installations.

We began our association with D.1.B on our Vet/Hospitality kitchen project in 2011. Consultant Sam Garden was called on to assist in the design of a system that would allow live streaming of the cooking process to a HD panel above the display bench, this eliminated the crowding issue created by students standing around the cooking table. Sam also designed a solution for a sound system that could be recessed into the ceiling out of the way and to cope in a noisy commercial kitchen environment.

Our next project involved a complete redesign of the visual systems in our Assembly Hall. Sam again worked with us designing a system that included the installation of two large drop – down motorized screens either side of the stage with the projectors fitted within protective cages high on the side walls away from and protected against bouncing balls.

Another projector was installed above the 300 seat mezzanine seating area projecting onto a large painted wall. We also had a projector with a drop down screen installed in the the foyer. This design frees up the stage area while being able to display image to all parts of the audience sometimes numbering close to 1900 students and staff. We also have the option of running each projector independently for PD or meeting purposes.

The project was completed early this year with Trevor Wilkinson being the main technician doing the installation. Trevor kept me informed of progress and any issues that arose during the project. Furthermore, he followed up by giving us the vital training required once the system was commissioned.

We are about to have our new Year 9 Learning Centre finished and Sam and the installation team have been busy fitting interactive projectors and display screens throughout the new building.

To Melanie Garden in the office, Sam Garden that comes out onsite to do the design and Trevor and the boys who do the technical installations, I would like to congratulate them on the way they provide a thorough and professional service and would recommend D.1.B to any school that was thinking of installing audio visual systems.
