Marian College, an independent Catholic secondary school for girls in Sunshine West, Victoria, fosters learning in the Brigidine tradition with values of courage, hope, and compassion. Its gymnasium is more than a sports hall—it’s where the entire school gathers for assemblies, performances, presentations, and rehearsals. When the time came to modernise this key venue, the AV system needed to deliver clear sound, impactful visuals, and intuitive operation to support a wide range of school activities.
For over 15 years, Marian College has partnered with D.I.B Audio Visual to enhance its learning environments. This trusted relationship began with the installation of first-generation interactive projectors in 2010 and has since evolved into a comprehensive collaboration.
In this most recent upgrade, D.I.B installed two impact-resistant Aurora LED wall displays—a significant improvement over the outdated ceiling-mounted projectors. The previous system lacked brightness and flexibility, while the new LED displays offer high visibility and can remain active during sports activities without risk of damage, making them ideal for multi-use gym spaces.
Audio was equally important. To support everything from speeches to live band performances, Fohhn Audio speakers were selected for their full-range clarity and durability. With careful acoustic planning, only two speakers were needed to achieve full-room coverage—reducing clutter while maintaining performance.
Simplicity was also a key driver. The system is managed via a custom Extron control interface, enabling staff to operate displays and audio with minimal training and maximum confidence.
Because D.I.B was involved early in the renovation process, infrastructure such as cabling and LED wall support was fully integrated during construction—eliminating the need for retrofitting and ensuring a clean, modern finish.
Marian College’s new gym is a thoughtfully integrated space—designed to support a wide range of activities with flexibility, reliability, and ease. Through early collaboration and forward-thinking design, the school now benefits from an AV solution that enhances both everyday use and long-term educational outcomes.
