St Mary’s Campus New Building
Project Overview
MacKillop Catholic Regional College has long been recognised for its strong sense of community and commitment to educational excellence. With the development of its new St Mary’s Campus building, the school set out to create a modern, connected environment designed to enhance teaching, communication, and collaboration.
Having partnered with MacKillop since 2012, D.I.B Audio Visual has played a key role in supporting the school’s audiovisual strategy across multiple projects. This trusted partnership continued with St Mary’s Campus, where D.I.B worked closely with the architects and AV team from the early planning stages to ensure that AV systems were seamlessly integrated into the new campus design.
Early collaboration proved invaluable—allowing careful consideration of equipment placement, cabling routes, and AV rack locations to ensure accessibility, efficiency, and long-term reliability.
Classroom Systems: Consistent, Reliable, and Easy to Use
At the heart of the new campus are its classrooms—each designed to make teaching straightforward and dependable. Every room was equipped with an Epson projector, local HDMI connectivity, and a simple push-button control panel. This design mirrors the systems already in use at MacKillop’s main campus, maintaining consistency and familiarity for staff.
The user-friendly interface allows teachers to walk into any classroom and begin teaching instantly—minimising setup time, reducing technical issues, and keeping the focus where it belongs: on learning.
Beyond the Classroom
Across the campus, D.I.B implemented a range of audiovisual solutions tailored to each space’s purpose.
The Project Space features a high-performance laser projector and Commbox interactive display, creating a flexible hub for presentations and workshops.
The Meeting Room integrates a Philips display and Logitech conferencing system paired with a simple touch-button control—enabling seamless collaboration and remote meetings.
Multiple areas were fitted with Concierge room booking panels, helping staff manage and reserve spaces efficiently.
One of the standout elements of this project is the digital signage network, deployed throughout key areas—including the library, foyer, and learning centres—to support communication and deliver important updates to students and staff. The system allows the AV team to manage and schedule content remotely—either from the main campus, located 20 minutes away, or directly at St Mary’s campus—ensuring both sites stay connected and up to date.
Another distinctive feature is the Yarning Circle—an outdoor learning area designed to give students a different kind of classroom experience. D.I.B outfitted the space with discreet JBL landscape speakers and a Bluetooth wall plate, allowing staff to easily play audio or music during lessons and activities. Controlled from the main reception area, the system brings technology into an open-air setting while maintaining durability and simplicity.
Finally, the Library serves as a collaborative hub, fitted with a Commbox interactive display, Extron control panel, and FBT 2-way ceiling speakers—supporting group learning, presentations, and digital content sharing.
From planning to completion, D.I.B Audio Visual worked hand-in-hand with MacKillop Catholic Regional College to deliver an AV ecosystem that’s simple, consistent, and future-ready—empowering staff and students across every part of the new St Mary’s Campus.
