Since Ivanhoe Grammar School opened its doors over 100 years ago with just twelve students, it has flourished into one of Melbourne’s leading private schools.
Providing students with modern facilities and equipment plays a large role in keeping students engaged and excited about learning. This is why Ivanhoe Grammar reached out to DIB Audio Visual to install two high-quality digital scoreboards. DIB has a long history of delivering quality projects for the school that goes back over twenty years.
The scoreboards were to be installed in their sports court where various sports activities take place. It was necessary to choose large screens so that the display would be visible from all areas of the courts. For this reason, the design team at DIB knew a pixel screen was the way to go. Even very large screens aren’t affected by light, meaning the image is always sharp.
An added benefit of these screens is their versatility, as they can serve multiple purposes, such as displaying videos or presentations, as well as being used as scoreboards.
We took the time to meet with the school to discuss appropriate screen sizes and various wall products. To avoid damage during sports games, we only recommended impact-protected products that could tolerate accidental impact from balls. This consultation process is an important part of all of our projects to ensure we are meeting the client’s needs.
At DIB, we are committed to designing audio-visual systems that are easy for individuals of all levels of technical expertise to use. The majority of our projects involve a simple user interface that allows teachers and students to operate all functions of the system from the press of a few buttons. For this particular project, this was in the form of a computerized scoreboard control accessible from a laptop. To further enhance the user experience, we strategically positioned an HDMI input where the scorers would sit, eliminating the need for extension cables.
It is essential to DIB that we choose reliable products with warranty and support. The screens we selected for Ivanhoe Grammar were from an Australian manufacturer with a five-year warranty. They even have their own repair shop, so if there were any issues, either DIB or the manufacturer would address them promptly.
