Project Overview

At Heatherwood School, creating learning environments that are both engaging and accessible is a top priority. Since 2017, D.I.B Audio Visual has been supporting the school with tailored AV solutions that enhance teaching and learning across its specialist classrooms.

The most recent stage of this partnership focused on equipping classrooms with Epson ultra-short throw interactive projectors. These projectors are mounted just above the whiteboard, eliminating the need for bulky ceiling units or long cables across the floor. This approach is particularly valuable in the school’s setting, helping to keep classrooms safer, protect equipment, and make the most of every inch of whiteboard space.

To make teaching even more seamless, the projectors were paired with the Vivi wireless presentation system. This allows teachers to connect their devices without cables and still take full advantage of the interactive features—controlling their laptop directly from the board using pens or touch. Where required, finger touch units were also installed, enabling staff and students to interact directly with the screen without the need for special tools.

Clear audio was also a priority, with external Kramer speakers installed to provide stronger sound coverage than the standard built-in projector speakers.

What makes this project stand out, however, is not only the technology but the planning behind it. DIB worked closely with the school and builders before classrooms were even completed. Detailed schematics ensured that cabling, whiteboards, pinboards, power outlets, and projectors were aligned perfectly, giving each room a clean and consistent finish.

By being involved early, DIB helped Heatherwood create classrooms that look neat, work reliably, and make interactive teaching simple for staff—delivering spaces that put learning first.
