Project Overview

Burwood Heights Primary School, located in Burwood East, caters for students from Prep to Year 6. It is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School authorised to offer the Primary Years Programme (PYP), focusing on developing well-rounded, creative, and adaptable learners. The school integrates subjects such as language, mathematics, science, and the arts while promoting independent inquiry.

As an IB school, enrolment numbers are rising due to its outstanding programs. Recently, the school renovated its gym, transforming it into two classrooms. DIB Audio Visual was engaged to design a user-friendly and effective audio-visual (AV) system for these new spaces.
We designed and installed an ultra-short throw projector, a two-way stereo system, and a simplified button wall control panel in each classroom. The ultra-short throw projector is mounted on the wall, allowing teachers to write on the board without casting shadows and enabling them to annotate directly over projected images. Two 30-watt, two-way stereo speakers were installed to provide clear, high-quality sound throughout the classrooms.

The school hall, originally built in the 1970s and previously used by the Out of School Hours program, was dark and uninviting. After the renovation, the space was transformed into two bright and spacious classrooms equipped with high-quality AV systems. This transformation has successfully engaged both teachers and students.

The new audio-visual system installed at Burwood Heights Primary School has greatly benefited both teachers and students. The user-friendly AV setup, featuring ultra-short throw projectors and high-quality speakers, has enhanced the teaching experience, making lessons more engaging and interactive. Teachers can easily annotate over projected images, which makes lessons more dynamic. The improved sound clarity has facilitated better communication, empowering educators to employ a variety of teaching methods. Overall, the renovations have revitalised staff enthusiasm and created a more dynamic educational environ.
