Project Overview
When schools and organisations invest in new spaces, the right audio–visual system can make them far more versatile and effective. Recently, Bulleen Heights School—a specialist Department of Education institution dedicated to supporting students through tailored learning and preparing them for the best outcomes in life—upgraded a new pavilion with an AV solution designed to support everything from staff meetings, training and professional development, celebrations, and curriculum days.
At the heart of the system are two Epson projectors paired with two 150-inch Grandview screens, offering clear and reliable visuals for presentations and events. The design also included a Bluetooth wall plate for seamless device connection, and an Extron touchscreen control panel to make operation straightforward for staff. Touch control panels allow quick adjustment of microphone and speaker volumes without needing to access technical equipment—helping avoid the common issue of systems being “over-adjusted” at the rack.
Because the pavilion can open out to outdoor areas, the system also integrates weather-resistant speakers. This ensures that sound carries clearly to audiences both inside and outside, with simple volume control depending on the size of the gathering. Importantly, the setup was also connected to the school’s existing hearing augmentation system, enhancing accessibility for all participants.
Attention was given to safety and ease of use. For example, control panels were recessed into the wall to reduce hazards—a thoughtful design consideration for specialist school environments.
By combining reliable projectors, user-friendly controls, and flexible audio solutions, this AV system enables the pavilion to be used for a wide variety of activities with minimal setup and disruption—making the space even more valuable to both the school and the wider community.
