D.I.B Audio Visual is proud to continue its long-standing relationship with Broadmeadows Special Developmental School, delivering a purpose-built AV upgrade across multiple areas including the new admin building, gym foyer, gym stage, and key learning spaces.
Located in Melbourne’s north, Broadmeadows SDS provides a supportive and engaging learning environment for students with diverse needs, with programs tailored to help each student reach their full potential.
With over a decade of partnership behind us, this latest project focused on balancing familiarity with fresh functionality.
At the heart of the installation are Commbox touchscreens and intelligent displays— carefully selected to suit the varied requirements of each space. In learning areas, such as the PE Room, Art Room, and Gym Stage Classroom, Commbox interactive panels were installed on height-adjustable motorised brackets, enabling access for students of all physical abilities and age levels. This was particularly important in a specialist setting, where flexibility supports inclusivity.
In contrast, non-touch Commbox intelligent displays were used in communal spaces like the reception and foyer—perfect for sharing announcements and school-wide updates in a clear, engaging format.
For the conference room, we installed an Extron control panel to simplify system operation and remove the need for complex, easily misplaced remote controls. These panels are typically programmed with straightforward functions— such as On, Off, Source Selection, and Volume Up/Down—making them ideal for quick, no-fuss use by staff.
With robust toughened glass, the Commbox touchscreens also offer the durability required in high-use environments. Having used Commbox screens for years, Broadmeadows SDS staff were able to transition smoothly to the upgraded systems. This upgrade is a testament to how long-term relationships and tailored AV planning can deliver meaningful results across diverse education spaces.
