St Kilda Primary School is a school located in the Melbourne suburb of St Kilda. The school opened 1875 and caters to over 600 students from Prep to Year Six. St Kilda Primary is a premier, co-educational school which aims to “provide students with the skills and attitudes that will be needed in their future”. The school particularly focuses on using educational technology in the classroom to provide their students with the best learning opportunities. This allows for teachers to develop innovative, engaging classroom lessons. As such, using technology for education is central to St Kilda’s teaching process.
For this particular job, St Kilda Primary School required a full technology update in six of their classrooms, including one specialist performing arts room. The school engaged the team at DIB Australia to come and look at the classrooms, assess the needs of the teachers and students and develop a tailored technological solution.
The team at DIB selected the EPSON EB-685Wi 3500 ANSI WXGA ultra short throw interactive projector. This projector was selected as it boasts a myriad of features, such as interactivity. This is an impressive feature, especially for primary schools as it allows the children to learn through touch, collaboration and interactivity. The projector also has 3500 lumens making the images produced bright and luminous.
A 1.2 x 1.8m Vitreous Enamel Whiteboard was also installed in each of the classrooms. These whiteboards are low gloss and provide a perfect white background for the projected images.
A VGA, HMDI, Audio and USB wall plate was installed. This installation allows the staff to connect easily with the projector and display engaging content for the students.
