Sacré Cœur is a Catholic Independent School for girls from Prep to Year 12. The school aims to provide students with the skills necessary to equip them for an ever-changing world of work. They hope to educate each student not only academically, but holistically, empowering the student and “building her confidence and resilience to respond to change and to live her life with a future focus.” By the time they graduate, the girls are imbued with a sense of courage that enables them to live their lives to the full. To best help them with their goals, Sacré Cœur employs the best in learning technology to provide high-quality technological resources to the students.
Sacré Cœur worked with the team at DIB to install a new AV system in one of the classrooms. This involved the installation of a new projector and speaker system.
Installation process
For this project, an EPSON EB-595Wi WXGA 3,300 ANSI Interactive Finger Touch Projector was selected. The projector is interactive, which means that it comes with a pen that can transform a whiteboard into an interactive whiteboard. This can be done without needing to get additional hardware. Because no driver installation is needed and the projector is self-calibrating, this removes any difficulties from using the projector. Teachers can better focus on teaching students in an innovative, engaging way.
A high-quality, low gloss, vitreous enamel 1.5 x 3.0m whiteboard was also installed. The whiteboard has a ceramic type surface and is very flat, which is perfect for interactive projection.
DIB also installed an EPSON 2 x 15 Watt 2-way Stereo speaker system to match the projector system. The speaker system features a separate auxiliary input which may be used for direct iPod or audio MP3 device connection.
A Joey Micro 6 wall control panel was also installed. This panel simplifies the operation of the system because it negates the need for remote controls. All the functionality is condensed in one place. The panel typically includes buttons that turn the system on and off, control the volume, and change the source. The panel will even turn the system off automatically if it is accidentally left on, saving power.
Further, a HDMI, VGA and audio input plate connections were installed to enable users to connect their external device to the projector.
