St Hilda’s College is a residential college at the University of Melbourne committed to providing accommodation, academic and pastoral support to over 200 students. St Hilda’s College strives to transform the lives of the students in its care, priding itself on cultivating an environment where students belong and are encouraged to grow and be the best version of themselves.
DIB Audiovisual worked with St Hilda’s to install new audiovisual systems inside 7 of their tutorial rooms with the aim of providing better technological facilities to supplement the learning experience of the College’s students.

Installation process
A 75” Philips monitor was installed in all seven tutorial rooms. With a slim and neat design, this versatile monitor can suit the needs of any room. Featuring 4K, ultra HD resolution, this monitor provides a bright, high-quality display that makes content displayed on it look eye-catching and easy to view. The monitor was also displayed on a Peerless TrueVue wall mount that can be tilt-adjusted to find the optimal viewing angle. An additional, larger 86” Philips monitor was also installed in one of the tutorial rooms to complement its 75” counterpart.
The full system
All of the rooms were fitted with an Extron soundbar. This soundbar not only provides high-quality, clear audio from the monitor (or an audio source that is connected to the soundbar’s additional audio inputs), but is width adjustable. This allows the size of the soundbar to be changed to best suit the display (75” to 80”).
For an easier control of the AV system in the rooms, an Extron MLC55 wall control panel was installed. With buttons that turn the system on and off, control the volume, as well as changing the source to be shown on the monitor, these user-friendly panels simplify the operation of the system by condensing the system’s important features in one place. This allows users to focus on studying rather than worrying about how to get the system to work.
