Croydon Special Developmental School (Croydon SDS) is a government-funded school for students with moderate to severe intellectual and/or physical disabilities. In a safe and encouraging environment, qualified staff work with families to write goals and create lesson plans that best cater to the individual needs of each child. Croydon SDS recognises that having the best in educational technology is crucial for giving students the best learning experience.
Croydon SDS engaged the team at DIB with the intention of installing new interactive equipment in three classrooms. After consulting with the client, DIB created a plan that would better cater to the needs of both the staff and the students.
In all three classrooms, DIB installed a CommBox Interactive 70″ Touch monitor. This sleek, modern monitor is perfect for any classroom environment. With a touch area of 70″ and a display area of 65″, these monitors increase student engagement in the classroom, allowing up to four points of touch (with a maximum of ten) to be registered at any one time. Further, combined infrared and camera technology ensure ultra fast and accurate touch responses. The monitor’s ultra HD (3840 x 2160) 4K resolution also means that any displays will be vibrant, vivid and eye-catching, which is crucial for interactive monitors. Connectivity wise, the monitor has local connectivity options (HDMI & VGA), allowing users to plug in their Windows or Mac devices.
As a means of audio reinforcement, a CommBox Soundbar was installed. This passive soundbar hangs directly off and below your CommBox interactive screen, which is not only pleasing to look at, but it also does its job effectively without being intrusive.
