Penola Catholic College has two campuses: the senior campus is located in Broadmeadows, while the junior campus is in Glenroy. Penola Catholic College worked with the team at DIB to upgrade the AV system of one of their classrooms. This mostly involved upgrading the projector, which better suited the needs of the teaching staff.
Installation process
For this project, an EPSON EB-695Wi WXGA 3,500 ANSI Interactive Finger Touch Projector was selected. With 3500 ANSI lumens of output, the projector is able to produce high-quality, crystal clear images. Further, the projector is interactive. This means that the projector comes with a pen that turns any whiteboard into a giant touchscreen without any additional hardware. Because no driver installation is necessary, and the projector is self-calibrating, this removes the hassle in using the projector. Additionally, the projector has 16W built-in speakers, which is able to provide audio that can fill a classroom. This interactivity with the lesson content captures the students’ attention, improving student engagement.

DIB also installed a vitreous enamel 1.2 x 1.8m (low gloss) whiteboard. These whiteboards are very flat and have a ceramic type surface, which works particularly well with interactive projection.
The JED control panel was reprogrammed by DIB to suit the new features of the installation. This included re-labelling buttons and the panel front.

Further, the projector has advanced networking capability, which allows users to present from a remote location. Plus, DIB installed a HDMI input plate connection and a USB wall plate. This allows users to connect their external devices locally.
